The ParaOrdnance "P" series of doublestack 1911's holds a factory 14, 13  or 12 rounds, +1 in the chamber. The bad news is that factory mags are about $100.

There's also the Star MegaStar with 12+1, and the EAA Witness, with, I believe, the same.

These are not, IMHo, in the same roundup as the PO 1911's, I'd take a USP or MK23 before any of them, anyday.

I believe the high caps for the Glock 21 don't protrude from the grip.

Ahhhhhhh.

So nice to see that y'all agree with Clinton that anything over 10 rounds is [RED]HIGH[/RED] capacity....

Idiots.

BrodowskiTJ,

The ParaOrdnance is a sweet pistol. I carry a P12 limited...1 in the pipe and 12 in the stack. If I need more than that, we be in a peck of crap. I enjoy the P14 limited for the range. 14+1... As far as the mags, the P14 comes today with a hicap and they give you a coupon for two more. Cost $99 for the two. The only thing that sucks it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get them....If you need more than three mags, keep your eyes open. Every once an while you see $65 -$75 prices on some hicap mags....Tom Bowers board is where I have seen them....

I like the Limited model. Gives the ambi saftey, more of a cutout on the slide for better ejection, guide rod and bomar (sp)adjustable sights. A lot of custom features for a decent price....

I had only one time when the P12 did not function for me when it was new. At the range it fell of the tailgate of my truck and landed in a snowbank. Didn't fire for shit after that...Because it was new and the snow???? Have not had the heart to toss into a snowbank lately to find out.....

Good luck on your search,

Best regards,
Dan Tucker

The Para LDA is one of nicest guns I have shot and 14+1 is a lot of fire power.

Para is a wonderful weapon and for the money their Limited series cant be beat.
S/V and STI are the next step up in Hicap 1911`s. There is a difference.

I have a Para 1445 Stainless, and I Love It!!!
I'm planning on buying a 1445 Limited in black as soon as the legp thing is done.  Mags are expensive, and aftermarket mags aren't worth sh*t, but at least the factory mags are top notch. For the price, nothing compares. USP and Glock mags are nearly as expensive as Para mags. The other two are sweet pistols, but if you like the 1911 pattern, then Para is the way to go.
