Just curious...

I was thinking about the first time i bought my uzi in 1993.

I paid $900, and was just wondering about the price of a SP89 was back then.

Dont you mean pre 89?

my first AR was a Colt Sp1 that cost $400 in 1987!

my first AK was a NIB Norinco Type 56 that cost me a whopping $375 in 1988..

I remember seeing a NIB HK94 with metal bipod in mid 80's that was selling for $700

No...

I had the bad timing of getting into real firearms at 14 in 1992.

I had one back in the day and wish I never sold it. I think I paid under $700 for it new but it was in the 80's form what I recall.  The MP-5 broom handle would fit perfectly on the front but that was of course not legal without the paperwork.  HK was only available at one particular LGS in my area and they had one of each HK on the shelves.

back then, the biggest factor in the high price of HK guns was how strong the Deutsche Mark was against the USD

Well, I paid $1224 when they first came out. Within months, they were $850 at gunshows.
I should've bought more.
