I can't find in the article but did the "protestors" have a permit to shut the street down? If yes, maybe a good arrest. If no, bad arrest. The fact it says he was arrested but no charges listed means it's probably a bad arrest and they were trying to call their legal advisors to figure out something they could hit him with

the man then turned around and began driving back into the activists before a police officer drew his gun and ordered him to stop.

Someone from protest probably called 911 saying they were assaulted....cops stopped the guy based on 911 call. SJW bosses want an arrest.....and are trying to MSU...

Eh If I was him I would sue the police department and or the city for the arrest. The man going the legal speed limit drove a licensed vehicle on a road, then made a LEGAL u-turn. All while police watched protestors illegally blocking traffic and did nothing.
I would be a rich man. |

Liberals burn buildings down and walk free. Conservatives make people feel bad and go to jail. That's just how it works.

That looks like the newer Federal building on 9th St. Nasty area.

You all don't seem to understand how SHOCKING this is. He could have run over somebodies foot.

"The man is being held in custody but no charges have yet been made"
WTF? Hope he gets a huge Out of court settlement for false arrest. |

Police are taking orders from snowflake mayor who is making sure everyone knows the mayor has their back regardless of what the law says.
If the guy turned around and went back for more he is an idiot. |

This, kinda reminds me of Zimmerman. I'm on the fence here... He fucked up in turning around to go back. But on the other hand, fuck those cockfags who block traffic for their "feelz." View Quote His turning around and going back through the protestors...without hitting or injuring any of them...is as much his right of protest as is their ridiculous illegal act of protest blocking a tax payer funded transportation route...assuming they didn't have a legal permit. But let's face it...it's California. The application of logic, reason, common sense, and rule of law are suspended for crazed liberals. It's the rule of "feelz" and in-your-face-liberalism that takes precedence over all else. |

San Fran protesters are a protected class.
Laws are for little people. If you lay down on a road or street and get ran over it is the protesters fault. |

This, he needs to be arrested. If he was just trying to get through to do his business-fine, but turning around to go back-not fine. View Quote If these protesters didn't have a permit the dude should sue the police...hell he should sue them anyways because if they had a permit to block the roads then the police should have blocked it off with patrol cars and whatever else they have. ...there's a reason zero charges have been filed, the police fucked up and they know it. In fact the only thing i see being filed anytime soon is against the police. |

Well, I see that he was going the wrong way on a one way street, but I'm betting he was arrested for outstanding warrants.
They sure did step and fetch out of the way quickly enough didn't they? |

Looks like a business district (>50% of buildings on street), so U-turns are illegal (in California).
Wrong way down a one way street. Driving thru protesters at a dangerous rate of speed - reckless endangerment. Turning around to do it again - stupid, reckless endangerment. That guy was looking for trouble and he found it. P.S. - I have no sympathy for the "protestors" or their cause, NONE! In fact, I think the system they favor should be dismantled. |

Who needs to be charged is the guy who tried to grab the bike.
