So now the question becomes can I build one for that price and quality or can I spend a hundred or two more either build myself or purchase and have a lot better rifle? I could probably build a very bare bones range toy for that price that might be a few MOA at 100 yards or spend a little more that will get me close to that MOA at 100 yards.

Good lord, just how low can the prices continue to drop.
I'd love to find a 20" A2 rifle for that price. |
|
Im waiting to pounce on a AR10 very soon, prices are in super salad day mode
|
|
Well...
HELLS, YEH!!!! (Del-Ton makes solid stuff - GTG in my book...) |
|
Yawn. Give me a midlength, chrome lined barrel for that price, and I will say fo.
|
|
Meh....I'll pass. I believe in the old adage that you get what you pay for.

I'd rather have a CL for 450.
That's what they need to be selling.... |
|
Hmmm
So what is the better value? This DelTon or the Ruger AR for $50 more? |
|
|
Good deal, but I'd rather save up for a KAC or LMT AR. Same for pistols; those shields for $225 are tempting, but I'd rather save for a CZ shadow or USP expert.
|
|
What's not to like? A pencil-barreled carbine that'll do what 99% of what anyone would ever need in an AR for $400.00 shipped?
That's half the price of a Colt 6720. |

We are getting to the point that a case of ammo costs more than a S&W shield and a case of ammo costs more than an AR

How does S&W stay in business with that price? That's nuts. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I'd imagine it's a situation where S&W has paid for the machining several times over already, and they're literally just paying for materials and labor.

Imagine what it would have cost if FHRC won the election. Or if it would even be available 8 months into the panic.

Medicfrost, thanks for the link and damn you!
Del-Ton has a good rep and, as stated above, there's a lifetime guarantee for the product but, man, Ruger has done so well by gunowners after their founder croaked, I'd really like to support them. |

DelTon makes a good product, I'd say they're at least even with Palmetto State Armory. They've got a lifetime warranty and a lot of the police departments around here are switching to them because they're a local business.

Del-Ton is GTG, industry partners here. |

View Quote I bought one for a young guy and his wife about 10 years ago who were having a tough time financially. (Hard working nice people with a couple of babies.) They still have it as their house gun and it still chugs along like it always has. I paid more than $399 back then but it was still a pretty good deal............I can't remember the amount though. He likes the DelTon and it has been about 10 years. |

It's actually $410.97 unless you plan to pay in cash.

Meh
PSA has better deals. I built a ML nitride with Magpul furniture for $450 total. |

I made my A2 20" for about $439. I wanted it to look as bone stock as could be. DTI lower, & 20" upper, DTI parts kit, etc. It can be done quite easily. Shoots really nice too. View Quote I put together a Del-Ton 20" A2 for around $550 a couple of years ago. Chrome lined barrel. Very solid shooter, the barrel can outshoot me. I used an old A2 upper I got off the EE and used the flat top on another build. I had Del-Ton install a non "F" marked FSP. They were very attentive to a perceived error on my order when I chose that FSP. They emailed me to confirm my choice. |

If I didn't have a bunch of parts laying around to finish builds on I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this. I've got a DelTon upper and no name BCG that has been accurate out to 200 yds for me.
