get this Small solar panel that fits on dash 30$

get this 140mm USB Fan 17$ ( there may be better fans that are 1.5v , or try more fans to see how many it can handle with a USB hub.)

Crack a window or 2 , the panel handles the 1.5 volt fan nicely . Velcro'ed the solar panel to my dash , put the USB fan upright on the dash for good airflow ( or hang it from the rear view mirror when you get out of the car or whatever). Still gets warm in the car but not nearly as bad without it , no more sitting in a oven till the AC starts working.

I roll down the windows when I get in and not much later the ac is blowing cold. This seems like hassle for 20 seconds of discomfort

BMW offered in their 760i..a system where you could set the temp in the car while it was parked and the a.c. would come on every so often to keep it at the pre set temp.

keep the dash from cracking too , but it can be no fun getting in a hot car at lunch in a suit or jumping into rush hour or bunch of people /kids piling in the car.. . maybe overkill it works good.

Slightly open sun roof, crank the AC, and let the hot air rise/be pushed out as cool air fills the cabin... close sun roof.

As to tired of a hot car... leaving a window open enough for the fan and someone may well take care of the hot car problem in the way you don't intend!!

I have those. I've gone through so much double sided tape and my rear ones still fall out when I'm roll the window down.

Seems like one of those reflective car covers would be better. It's not just the ambient temp, the sunlight also heats up every surface in the car that it hits. The best way to prevent that is to block the sunlight.

There are solar fans that clip to your window. Don't know how to link to Amazon from my phone but it's an easy look up.

I remote start my truck on hot and cold days. It's just about right when I get in. Plus, I have AC/heated seats.

This but spend the money on the good 3m heat rejection film. Had the wife's new SS done with it. Cost a few hundred extra. Stuff is amazing. That and a good shade in the windshield and the car stays fairly comfortable.

Ah, the good old days.

You would carefully put the towel down on the vinyl interior....gingerly lower yourself onto the seat avoiding those stupid metal buttons on the upholstery....then forget and buckle the lap belt and the metal buckle would sear into your flesh.

Good times...

Seems fixing the A/C would be a better way to spend the money than a workaround for just when you get in. Maybe a complete vehicle upgrade?

Whenever I'm about to leave I pay my staff to go into my car sit in it for five minutes with the AC blowing at 47° and then page me once it has reached the ideal temperature.

I use those and a reflective, fitted windshield shade.

The way my weathertechs fit you can't tell at a glance if the windows are open.

Out of all the perks and benefits I get at my work the parking garage is one of the best. I park in my garage at home too. Years ago I used to have to park outside and it sucked. The TX sun is brutal.

My garage has heat and a/c. Also work 2nd shift. My car and truck rarely get hot but when they do both have cooled seats and moonroofs. That reflective wrap is a "cool" idea for someone who needs it though.

I don't think I've voluntarily ran the AC in probably six or seven years. It comes on during rain when the windows fog, but other than that I take the temp for what it is. I like windows down.

Why bother with a solar panel?

A 12 volt DC fan that draws 0.1 amps (100 ma) will only consume 0.8 amp-hours from your car battery over an 8 hour period.

Assuming your car battery is rated at 50 amp-hours, that's just 1.6 percent of its capacity discharged over that 8 hours - a totally insignificant amount.

Even if you left the fan running all weekend (60 hours) without starting the engine, the battery still be 88 percent full on Monday morning.

I remember seeing these little fan contraptions when I was a kid in AZ that you rolled up into the window, mid-late 90's. It had a small solar panel and a fan that was supposed to vent the hot air out, no idea if they actually worked or not.

Ugh, you had me until "crack the window"! I work near heavy woods so whenever I crack my windows I come back to a car full of spiders and bees and bugs, oh my! And if Base Maintenance decides to make an appearance and mow our weeds, I end up with weed clippings and flying dust...

I'm thinking about buying a roll of reflective material and just making my own 360° sunshade.
