Does GD have any preferences? Anyone have either model? Need one for wood stairs, wood floor, tile floor. Carpet is a bonus. I currently have one of the full size Dyson's... had it for years. It's great except the hose and attachments suck bad and it's not good for stairs or cleaning the car.  The price of the Dyson is high and their V8 model is outrageous, but I also don't like to buy junk.  Both seem to have decent Amazon reviews.

I have a two year old shark. We bought it at BJs about 120.00.
Zero complaints, lightweight works on both the hardwood and carpets. Its not designed for whole house vacuuming more of a secondary machine.
I would buy another if we needed it.
Sure cordless would be nice but I've never run out of juice either.

I have a Shark Rocket. It is the first upright I have ever liked.

It is really good on carpets. On hard floors, it is probably a little above average.

I JUST bought this today.

100 bucks, plus batteries if you don't have M18 Milwaukee stuff.  You can swap batteries, unlike the $500-600 Dysons.  It works well on hardwood, I have not tested on carpet, but it does NOT have brushes.

huh. Didn't know they made a vacuum. I do have a Milwaukee cordless drill with the same battery. Wife won't care as long as it picks shit up from the stairs/wood floor and is light

It is pretty light and does get fine shit, as well as chunks.  Not loud and it locks on, if you want.

I am impressed by how much the Shark picks up. I don't have the cordless model but compared to a Kirby... not even close. The Kirby didn't pick up shit and bags were pricey as all get out.

My ex-wife has a Dyson V6 at her condo. It's pretty much useless. I mean it's about as powerful as an old Black & Decker dustbuster.

I hate our Kirby and normally use my Rocket True Pet. It's great but is limited by it's small bin. I use it on tile, hardwood and carpet, including stairs. It's one of my best investments for my hardwood.

You've been here almost 5 years.  You should know the vacuum of choice on AR15.com is the Shark.  Grill of choice is Weber. Gas or charcoal.  Unless you're one of the few millionaires that hang out with us poor people, then it's the Big Green Egg.

Wife cleans for money. A couple people had Dysons at their house so she has experience with them

Says Shark beats them easily regardless of cost. Her rocket has lasted almost 3 years, professionally, and is still going strong.

She just got the deluxe one pictured in the OP and LOVES it because it's so much lighter and easier to use in that configuration.

Lowes has them on sale for 180 which is the cheapest she's found, and she shops hard.
