Actually prefer beef or ribs. Around here, every function has Boston Butt or pork loin. Get tired of it. I usually cook a few around the Holidays for folks.

Looks good. I smoked two this past weekend but they didn't look as good as that. What temperature did you cook at and for how long?

Pork can take the heat! 225 to 275 is a good range for as long as it takes to get to an internal temp of 195 to 205. As long as it takes. Usually in the 8-12 hour range.

I smoke mine at 225F until ~203F internal temperature.
An 8 pound butt will take me 14 to 16 hours (I don't wrap).

I do very similar to this, but last time I pulled it off at 173 internal and cubed it up to make burnt ends, doused them in rub again and put back on for about 1.5 hrs, basted in bbq sauce and then finished on the grill for carmalizing. it was fucking outstanding, way better than pulled. I will never go back. the important part is to cube it up before the temp gets too high, you still need texture, not mush. the finished product was very tender.
