I followed that tweet down the rabbit hole a bit. There are a few PD's out there with some very funny people running their twitter accounts.

I know both of those guys. They have a facebook post on a donut eating contest.

ISU and Ames PD are actually a pretty cool bunch.

I wish my dept. would let me run the twitter account. I would copy and paste from ARFCom all day.

This thread has me thinking.

I think that running the social media pages is a full time job. I've got to find out if its an Officer or a regular employee that does it. And if it's an Officer, how would I go about getting the position.

Thanks ARFCom, you have inspired me to find a lazier way to get through the work day.

All the ones I know are run by the public affairs people. Ours is a civilian and other agencies have sworn PIOs that manage facebook accounts.

I can believe that. I put a lot of miles on Iowa's roads. My crews can be a little rough. Never anything less than a fully professional encounter anywhere, and your state-ies are gold too.
