I would get it. And it's only a couple hundred bucks to get the tritium recharged.

Also whats up with the mount (or lack there of?) he said it has a flat top mount but i just dont see it in the pics....

Buy it. But ask about the original mount. He just has it sitting on top of that FAL.
Edit: He probably drilled through that aftermarket top cover to mount it to get it lower. |

I've had better deals on ACOGs, but the price seems ok in today's market.
TA51 mounts are cheap and available because they're usually sold for something better. |

I don't understand why you would do that. Newish ACOGs pop often on EE for the $800ish mark.

DSA used to offer their top cover milled for direct attachment of an ACOG. That appears to be the case here.
Check with Trijicon on the price to refurb. If memory serves me correctly, it's more like $400 to get new tritium, because they do a complete rebuild. You're into new ACOG price range then. If you get it without a mount, I have some thumbscrew mounts that I'd be willing to give away for free. Unless you're in the panhandle of ID, then I'd require that you check my trail cams and send me the memory cards.

One thing I just noticed, is that modern, brand new Acogs, have less tritium than the old ones. The Brand new one I looked at yesterday, was less bright than my old one, which I've had 12 years.  Can anyone explain that? Did the government crack down on the Tritium?
