& how much money would you guess you have in guns?

I just bought my first gun. It's a paintball gun. I'd say it's worth $500? It's a classic Karnivor Autococker in Green!

Nice try ATF MAN :P

I bought my first 10/22 in the early summer of 1978.

I have no idea how much money I've tired up into firearms since then.

I didn't start collecting until I was 87. Last count, I had 87 handguns and 87 rifles. Shotguns are for old fudds. I have them valued at $87,000,000 for insurance purposes.

Since 1988. Only have about 40ish firearms as I've bought and sold over the years but I'm very happy with and proud of what I have, especially after two divorces.

Bought my first gun, a 10/22, when I was 18. I didn't grow up with guns in the household

I figure for insurance purposes between $25-40k

I bought my very first gun a few weeks ago, it's a lever action shotgun. I plan to hunt waterfowl with it, but haven't taken the hunter safety course yet, so it's just sitting in my safe collecting dust.

Dad got me a 150 dollar russian SKS when i was 14.  Bought 4 CMP garands at Camp Perry, 2 Springfields, 1 m1 Carbine with money from my high school manual labor jobs.  Built my first AR in college in 2004,  and as well bought like 4 alby SKS, 2 russian capture mausers, and 2 Mosin Nagants, and one No 1 mk 4 enfield from AIM in that time (avg 60 to 80 bux for each). Graduated college and got 2 SCARs, 1 Para fal, an LE6920, 2 arsenal AKs, USP tactical 45, built a Mk12 Mod 0, got an m1a and thats all I can remember.

So 21 odd years i guess?

Recieved 1st gun (single shot 12 ga.) as a gift 40 plus years ago. Bought a few more the following years then stopped because it was time to spend money on raising a family.

Past 15 years  I have had the luxury of purchasing 1 or 2 a year, since that damn boat of mine  keeps sinking.

Now looka here, I did not say I was a millionaire
But I said I have spent more money than a millionaire
'Cause if I had've kept all my money that I'd already spent
I would've been a millionaire a long time ago
And guns? Well, Googly-Moogly!

I got my first gun when I was 12.  Not saying how long ago that was, but when I would buy a brick of 22lr and a Coke from the bait store down the road, the bottle of Coke cost a dime.  It had gone up from a nickle the year before.  How many and how much?  The answer to both questions is the same... way more than I would ever admit to the SO.  Just yesterday as I was rummaging around in one of my safes, SWMBO casually remarked "Looks like you need another safe... that one's full."

1960's or there abouts. Didn't buy any for about 20 years. Too much $$$ to add up. Gone through cycles. Shotguns, then precision long guns, then revolvers, then pistols, then AR's. At one time was interested in old guns, but the good ones were too much and hard to locate.

I was 14 when I got my first shotgun, my mother had to buy it for me. I was shooting trap at the time and wanted my own shotgun. Mossberg 500 combo. Still have it today. Was used for trap, deer with slug barrel, sporting clays (at 17, beat a friend with his o/u Ruger Red Label - he was pissed) used for pheasant, used as a turkey gun, now my home defense shotgun.

No idea how much over the past 33 years since then.

1970's is when it started for me.........can't remember the exact year.

But I didn't have my first handgun until I was 21 and that would be the latter part of 1974.........so that's probably when it really started.

About 32 years , oh that sounds horrible.......    I would probably say roughly $100k in over that time. My divorce whacked me pretty hard and even 10 years later I have not recovered all the way.
