Can't tell. Pattern looks similar. But head I can't tell. Looks long and skinny thought copperhead where stubby looking

Looks like one to me without looking for pics to verify. Triangular head. If not its got a decently close pattern.

Judging by the picture I would say yes. Need a better pic but I would say it has all the characteristics of a copperhead.

Not a copperhead.

Rat snake or something similar. If you can free it without killing it they are good snakes to have around the house.

Scales underneath tail are a good indicator. Double row vs single row. Wiki is your friend.

Head isn't right, a Viper head is very triangular and muscular looking. I agree with some, looks like a corn snake.

A copperhead that size would still have a yellow tipped tail.

That's a diamondback copperheaded rattlesnake. You can tell by how it is. Neat.

The pattern is somewhat similar, but the head doesn't look right for one.

I agree with the people who say it's a rat snake. Good little fellow to have around, keeps the vermin run off.

It's a juvenile rat snake guys. Not a copperhead. Not poisonous.

Looks like he just ate.

Warm soapy water and free him. He is there because you have a rodent infestation which is evident by the glue trap.

How would you get him off that sticky trap without pulling his skin or scales off? Soapy water? I doubt he would like mineral spirits much. Or are these trap things not that tacky?

Grab ahold and pull. He will come off. Last year I freed a larger snake from several glue traps it had got in and released it outside. A few minutes later my 12 year old comes and tells me he just killed a copperhead. Same snake.

This. Had one with that same coloration and pattern; Shy Ronnie was his name and he was a mean little bastard but fun as hell for a pet.

This, exactly.

Do not just rip the snake off the trap, that's how they end up losing a ton of scales and skin which is not only painful but leaves them vulnerable to infection.
