I can't drive ten miles without passing as many mega churches. A single woman's mosque on the other side of the county, no matter how idiotic the teachings, is hardly worthy of notice -- let alone concern. The reason there are only two in total is that there is no demand for them. This one is going in, not to meet some mysterious California Muslim need, but to showcase the tolerance of the local leftists.
The good news is this: even most left leaning folks are baffled and appalled by the feminists and fringe left embrace of Islam. But then, the acceptance of Islam has nothing at all to do with the teachings of Islam. It is their way of showcasing how tolerant and superior they are. The more absurd the thing they embrace (so long as it is also foreign and exotic), the more tolerant they are shown to be. Thus, you see self proclaimed women's rights advocates marching in support of those who most violently oppress women. It only seems virtuous to them, everyone else thinks they are loons. So whatever. |

The funny thing is that they are embracing the worst kind of Islamic beliefs.
There are more modern Islamic cultures where women don't wear hijabs or dress like ninjas and they aren't forbidden in mosques or have sections for them segregated from the men. The countries that segregate the most also have theologians issuing death warrants for people allowing gender mixing, especially when alone. They also have the death penalty for women driving a car. A woman is not allowed in public without being covered or supervised by a male. Those women also have to remain covered from head to toe or there will be religious police will come by and beat them with sticks right there on the street. Yeah. Celebrate that.
