What size crush washer on my 2011 Kia Soul Base oil pan?

I bought a new 6-pack of Kia/Hyundai oem oil filters and they didn’t come with new crush washers this time.

Ok, so I got it changed (it was 14mm)...

I was checking all my other fluids and all were fine except the coolant, which is odd because I’ve had no overheating or issues there.  Car is like 10yrs old and I can’t remember ever topping it off.  Does it take anything special?

nope, just 50/50 Ethylene Glycol

not Polyethylene

make sure to take the cap off and fill it that way, the over flow is just that, overflow.

might want to get a coolant hydrometer to make sure the water to coolant mix is still right with the old stuff thats already in it..

I’ve got a check engine light on in my 2016 Kia Soul. Take it to the dealership? Last time they quoted around $160 just to run the “diagnostic” shouldn’t stuff like this be covered in my warranty?

@djkest

We now have a fair inventory of the new Sorento in my impressions are of it that it is pretty impressive over the previous Gen. In a few respects.

It's Lighter for one And even though externally it seems smallie the interior spaces the same

To me the LX hybrid model is the most interesting proposition.

You can also get it in flat grey with certain trims which is really hot right now.

The X-Line version looks great too

Gotta keep me and the wife-unit away from the KIA dealership then.
Is the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic the same auto transmission they were using last year? Or a different one?

We'd be looking at the S or EX.
I am also not a big fan of leather, but I do like the seats that have leather on the side bolsters and cloth in the middle. Like my Accord.

Its different, the 8 speed DTC is new for this year, its a wet type so you will never have to worry about clutch life, the 8 dct is only on the 2.5L turbo. The 1.6 turbo hybrid and 2.5 non turbo gets the normal torque converter automatic

Looks like you have to step up to the EX for the turbo. It's a shame, would be nice to get the lower trim with the turbo.

The turbo / DCT combo actually gets better MPG than the non-turbo model (with much less torque and power)

They are alright,  I think the reserve capacity on their lead acid auxiliary battery is a little too low for my liking but they are nice

I'd say top trim for max value but they are pricey

When it comes to Kia the higher trim you go the better deal it is compared to the equivalent trim of a competitor

We normally use the Arco station down the street.  I don’t know what Tier they would be considered.

I have a 2014 Sorento. Two questions; my driver seat heating unit went out. How hard would it be to DIY replace if I order the part? Also, rough estimate on a new windshield cost? I know that would also depend on my location.

W/O knowing the trim level etc, you can't nail down the price. Parts and prices are easy to find online though.

https://www.kiapartsnow.com/parts-list/2014-kia-sorento/trim/windshield_glass.html

$186.00 - $486.72 is what I'm seeing.

They are  Relatively easy to do, You will need some hog ring pliers and Some really strong dykes

Getting the bottom seat cushion in-and-out is annoying, Lots of sharp Stamped metal and such to cut yourself on

As for windshields your best bet is to call your local glass centre as They can give you a total install price

What do you think of the new Kia Seltos? Any chance that Kia will offer a better non-turbo engine option or a real auto trans option in the future?

I am think about the Seltos S model, + the AWD option and the remote engine start, and in two tone white and blue color.

my other option is the base LX model but feel it's too striped down and cheap out. Unfortunately, the turbo diesel engine and manual trans option will not be coming to the US models.
