Now all I have to do is configure it. Naturally the first thing I did when I got it home was set up dial-up internet and save AR15.com in my bookmarks. Now for the fun of transferring all my files from the old one.

BTW, its a Toshiba Portege 7200 with a Pent III at 700 Mhz, 256 Mb RAM, 11 gig HDD. Not exactly latest/greatest since it's probably been in our warehouse for a year or more. But compared to my old PentII 200 MMX, it screams. Plus 56k modem instead of 33k.  Not to mention ethernet for T1 access at work.

Gotta get busy.....

That's a cool computer Gus.

Of course it comes with the docking station?

I would think that is fairly current for a laptop, correct me if i'm wrong.

The laptops i'm most familiar with are Macs.

That should be nice though!

Timeport-  Yep, came with docking station and 17" monitor for office use. The thing is so thin even with the docking station attached, I think I'm just going to carry the whole thing around as a unit.  I didn't even realize it before, but the cd reader in the docking station is a DVD player. Just spent a few minutes checking it out with "The Matrix". VERY cool!

hicap - I have a poster of the SOPMOD M4 system as a backdrop on all my PC's!!

Duffypoo - you would like it - compared to 1.7 Ghz, this thing is running backwards.

misterhemi - When are you gonna take me for a ride in your funnycar???   [8D]

I have a Dell Latitude PIII 700mhz, 384ram, 10gig, DVD.

I got tired of bulky desktops.

Well, I AM an E.E., but I don't claim to know all there is to know about net stuff, like that payload pyramid thingy you guys had to learn about. Well, actually I did learn about it too, but it was a long time ago and I haven't used any of that info since I took the class. To me, protocol means dinner on the table when I get home. Not a lot of protocol in my house though...  [;)]
