Sounds like the perp was at her car window trying to get in and then the cops engaged. Depending on the angle of attack she would have been directly in the line of fire.
Not sure what the options would be here since the perp is armed, move laterally and try to take a more oblique angle, and don't miss. |

This occurred about 300 yards east of my office. Huge areas cordoned off...sounds like it was a running shit show.
It's unfortunate, but I'm glad the woman is ok and going to recover. |

I'm not shy about being critical of officers when I think they were wrong but this was a bad deal and I don't have any reason to find fault. A shit sandwich that everyone gets a bite of. Hopefully she makes a full recovery.
That said it will be interesting to see if there are political repercussions or opportunities. |
