What they need to do is start tracking these fucks by the benefits they get, comparing them to the remittances, and then confiscating those remittances until they equal out to what they've taken in terms of tax dollars. The numbers don't add up, the way you're suggesting it be done--There's still a tremendous amount of American tax money being spent, taken from all of us, to subsidize this shit that's leaving us out of work and making less money. Why the hell are my local schools having to float bonds to pay for the remedial education a lot of the illegal's kids need? Why isn't that expense, taken out of my pocket, being accounted for with this bullshit?

Seriously--You want to fix this shit? Fine, let's fix it, but let's do it by capturing the actual costs/benefits of all this "cheap labor". I guaran-damn-tee you that the only thing that's "cheap" about it is that we're not seeing the true costs of things, from across the board. Sure, the farmers are making out like bandits, 'cos in some cases they're paying a lot less to the illegals than they would have to pay an American, but... He's not the guy having to pay for them to live here in the off-season, he's not paying to educate their kids, he's not paying the health care costs for the families during the off-season, and on and on and on.

We literally don't even know what these people cost us, in terms of the externalities. Sure, you think you're making a little more money with that questionable labor you're getting cheap, but... You're also getting your taxes jacked up, to pay for educating their kids, the percentage that is criminal, and a whole bunch of other stuff that never makes it anywhere near your accounting software.

I say make all this crap legal, but also do away with birthright citizenship and all the rest. Look at the costs we're paying out, and if you're an illegal here in the US, making money to send home, sure... Send it home. But, first, let's take a look at what the American taxpayer is paying for you and your family to be here, undercutting our labor pool. If you ain't on the "profit" side of the balance sheet, too bad, too sad, your money ain't leaving, it's going straight to the US treasury.

That way, if the illegal truly is of economic benefit, that's the only way they can afford to be here and send money back. The current setup is basically subsidizing the destruction of the American economy, long-term. Hell, we don't even have a good handle on what we're spending on these people, or what is being sent back home by them--It's nuts. You want an honest set of numbers so we can actually look at this shit, and talk about it? Good luck; we don't have 'em, and aren't even trying to get them.

A lot of the cost to American taxpayers is hidden by all this shit; they need to seriously jack up the H1B tax rates, and do the same damn thing. I've heard complaints from laid-off US IT workers who were supporting a family, got replaced by Indian H1Bs that were living five-six to an apartment, and sending back most of their wages. The companies that were doing this were culpable, but the problem is also governmental--When you allow the tax base and housing base to get so far out of whack for the average American citizen that this kind of thing begins to make economic sense for those companies...? The whole basis for the equation needs to be changed.

I don't disagree that perhaps the US has a responsibility to boost economies overseas--That's just good for all of us, creating stable, market-based modern economies. But, for the love of God, why the hell are we letting this idea get so far out of hand that we're creating our own little third world, here in the US? It isn't good for anyone, in the long haul.
