2012 Odyssey... had new drive axles (both) less than 5k ago....Front left wheel area...when I turn the steering wheel, especially 1st thing in the morning... it sounds like something needs badly greased in the front left area... no grease points that I can find though.  Problem seems to get slightly better / less noisy when it gets colder outside.  What is causing this?

Yep
Never had a Honda but had 3 Ford's (mustang F150 focus) do that and all were ball joints

I assume you checked the PS fluid?

No one is going to diagnose that problem over the internet.
Take it to a competent mechanic, or lay down under the under the car, with the wheels on the ground and have an assistant replicate the condition and find the noise.
Balljoints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, strut mounts- one of the above.

Sounds like ball joints, or wheel bearings.
