On Earth of course. What time frame would you pick to live a full life of 70 or more years or less. The Roman times, Prehistoric?

If you want to live a full life of 70 years you would have to live in the present. In the old days 40 was old.

During the time BC times Romans were living into their 60s easily. Someone posted the audio to Youtube. Just need to get an app to download it with. |

Now. My poor uncorrected eyesight and damaged knees would have led to a short, painful life.

Norway, pre-900s i guess. Somewhere with rolling green hills and fjords, lots of rain, and peacefulness year round for hundreds of miles and no other humans. You know that movie Valhalla Rising? Take that and subtract 300 years

I dont know why on earth you'd want to live till 70. Things start to suck after 30 imo.

Virgina frontier pre to post American Revolution. Would like to be born about 1740 and live to 1820+. I would serve in the French and Indian War and The Revolution. I would help drive the Indians over the Ohio River. I could take advantage of the prosperity boom of the migration into western Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky. I could live to see the Louisiana Purchase. I would love to get a chance to go west with The Corps of Discovery, but by 1803 I'd be 63 years old. So maybe I'll change my born on to 1755.
Edit; Not that I've ever given it much thought. |
|
I am physically robust, tall, and a mesomorph. I know horses.
I would have done very well in a pre-industrial age devoid of firearms. |
|
I'd be queen Boudicas consort.
Or viking scandinavian would be a hoot as well. |
|
Always remember that those 200 years from now would kill to see America as we see it now, which I would love to have seen 200 years ago.

One time period for me. I would have loved to travel with Lewis and Clark. Totally unexplored territory.

Well I'm trying to decide between the Roman Era and the Mongol Era. Maximum impact to thwart future events that affect us now.

I would want to be in Jerusalem to witness Jesus' life and ministry.

While time traveling to visit would be awesome, time traveling to be marooned sometime in the pre-20th Century past would suck. Hell in most regions of the world the 20th Century still would suck.
Get seriously sick? You'll likely die even if it's something trivial to modern medicine. Have something like diabetes? You're definitely going to die. Get an infected wound? You'll probably die, or be called Stumpy for the rest of your days depending on the era. Want to see Indians? They're probably going to kill you and make a festive change purse out of your scrotum. We're talking both kinds of Indians here. Have less than perfect vision? Well now we know how you got ambushed by that Indian... Think your knowledge of modern technology and science will make you a big deal? Most places and eras they'll burn you at the stake, or just think you're insane, so you'll get to skip the burning at the stake bit and just get chained to a tree stump so the local children can hit you with small rocks and rotten fruit. You played football in HS so you'll be great in armor with a sword? Yeah no, that other guy has been practicing in armor and a sword to kill people since he was 7 and is built like the Rock; also while practicing to kill people with a sword he got over zealous one time and killed his best friend Percy, and he doesn't really feel all that bad about it, so yeah you're getting no mercy from him. If you don't eat you will also die. Unfortunately a lot of things that are available to eat will kill you because there was no concept of safe food preparation, sanitation or germs, you'll probably get sick, which means you could die. Oh and Mexican public water is the only water available, everywhere. Screw it the 1700-1800s wouldn't be so bad right? And you could use a gun! Yeah and get shot, which leads to infections which leads to death or again being called Stumpy. Also more men died in camp than in combat back then because of...well most of that shit above. But hey if you get in good with the locals you'll have a better shot right? Certainly! Now how is your Old Norse, Middle English or Algonquin? Plus you have to remember at most times in the past people liked foreigners about as much as Vlad Tepes liked Turks who wouldn't take off their hats in his presence. They're not going to sit down all 13th Warrior-like and teach you how to fit in, they're likely going to kill you and see what interesting things you have in your pockets...and probably turn your scrotum into a coin purse. Etc. etc. Like I said there are plenty of times and places I'd love to see, so long as I wasn't stuck there because a modern American has a very slim chance of living to whatever era he's marooned in's "old age" let alone the one we can expect now; the further back in time/distance from America you go the lower that chance is. TL;DR version: One way trip to the past you say? You're probably going to die within a short span of getting there. |

Now.
If I HAD to choose another period, I'd be born in the early 70s so I could be an 80s kid again (I was born in 83, too late to enjoy it ). The 50s *seem* like they'd be an idyllic time but there was a lot of crap going on then too. |

Would depend if you got to pick your social status and or class. Serf or Knight would make a big difference.
I'm good with now. |

None but the present. Don't want to die of Small Pox, or get polio.

I'd like to have experienced what my parents did in the 40's to the 60's as an adult. I came along late for them, after my dad had retired from the military. My sister got to experience some of her childhood while they were still overseas.

800-900ish raiding with Ragnar and my ancestors I'd be in Valhalla right now.
