If its a long range AR with a nice optic I would spend a little more and get the PRS. Not having a consistent cheek weld can be a pain.

I have a 18" grendel with an A2.
Why? Because I'm poor. I was gonna get the luth-ar at a later date but now I don't think I will. |

I'm in the process of assembling what I hope, will be my first AR built for precision. I'm holding out for Magpul 's Gen II UBR. Why?
Can get a solid cheek weld, ability to use the A5 buffer, will be adjustable so I can teach the kids, accommodate different clothing depending on the weather and lastly.....I think the UBR looks good. I've considered other routes but the A5 system is something I want to try. |

Colt CS stock. A2 goodness in A1 length.
My A2 clone and Mk12 both have CS stocks. |

B5 SOPMOD on every precision AR I own. I traded my PRSs for guns, and other stuff.

My .308 is a pig for a number of reasons but one was the PRS. I had to put it on a diet and switched the PRS for a SOPMOD, I still have the cheek weld to use my ST-10 and saved a goodly amount of weight. |

The PRS is an excellent stock. In addition to being adjustable, it helps to properly balance an AR with a heavy barrel.

Everybody's different, but for lots of people, including me, a standard AR stock is too low to obtain a proper cheek weld and keep your eye centered in the scope tube. I use both the length of pull and the riser adjustments on my PRS. Now I will say I find it weird based on pictures posted here how many people buy a PRS only to keep the buttplate and riser dialed all they way in. |

I know plenty of people using cantilever mounts with larger 5-25, 6-24 type stuff though I personally would never scope an AR with something like that. My current "precision" 20" rifle is wearing a Kahles k312i in a cantilever KAC mount. Eyebox is yuuuge and I have a huge head, its very easy for me to get behind. Some of the bigger scopes had reticles I really would like to try with this rifle (SR-25 APR) but for my uses I value FOV, eyebox, and the like in a semiauto platform while maximum magnification rates very low. |

Don't overlook Luth AR stocks.
Much cheaper than PRS and it does pretty much the same thing. |

I actually like the Luth-AR stock better then the PRS and I have both. My 6.5 build has the Luth-AR stock on it. |
