I can't help, but I use my LMT-SPR for coyotes. I always heard about the short barrel life of the 22-250 and additionally not wanting to add another caliber when the .223 does a great job |

I'd advise re-thinking the 22-250. 223 will do 90% of what you want without adding a cartridge to your stable. I dragged a Rem VSSF and a 24" 1/9 AR out west prairie doggin for about ten years '97-07 and I really should have just packed an extra upper for the AR. Inside 100 yards though, a 40 gr VMAX cooking along at about 4100 does make for an impressive intestine helicopter.

Seriously though, 22-250 allows the easy use of 80gr and 90gr projectiles with a much better BC than any 77gr could dream of. That with the extra case capacity of the 22-250 allows them to be sent down range with more FPS...all of which leading to better performance in the wind at all ranges and far superior performance at long ranges (400yds+). 22-250 has a place. |

I've heard these Ruger Americans are pretty good out the box; not sure about 1 MOA.

I just bought this in .223. Haven't shot it yet, still working on the stock and I'll get a replacement trigger spring tomorrow AM. Should be shooting it Sunday or Monday at the latest. it ill become my new Coyote Rifle and I'll probably use it for deer as well. |
