Soon we'll see pre-ban cans of whipped cream on the EE.

Conagra Foods confirmed that there is currently a nationwide shortage of whipped topping products.

Whipped cream is crazy easy to make at home. My wife makes it at home all the time, and its better than store bought.

I may have been in a room full of people doing whip-it's in high school, and I may have seen them using a stripped out cracker to get the NOS in a balloon, and I may have screamed like a little girl when they were jamming the cracker against a table to hold the whip-it in the cracker when it slipped over and fired out across the room and hitting one of my friends square in the chest.

While I have made my own share of whipped cream with a whisk, I also have an Isi brand cream whipper and a decent sized pack of nitrous chargers. Its a whipped cream bottle you fill yourself. Amazon price on the chargers seems to be a bout $.50 a piece, which is cheaper than what I paid for the exact ones on amazon 4 years ago.

For once I'm on the leading edge of a trend.  I already have 3 qts of whipping cream and  two bottles of the pressurized whipped cream in the fridge.  I may have to sell on EE if the panic actually hits.

I loved Cool Whip as a kid. Once I read the ingredients, I could never enjoy it again.

It's whipped Crisco with sweetener. Rediwhip is real cream.

Whipped cream in a mixer isn't as good as when it's aerated with nitrous, imho.

It's just basic kitchen stuff.  Hell, it ain't even "cooking".  It's just mixing ingredients.

Try it. Homemade whipped cream is delicious.

I'm a single guy.
KA's are too large and too expensive.
I mainly use my stand mixer for kneading bread doughs and this small Bosch cost less than $150 (when I bought it) and has a 400 watt motor compared to the lessor expensive (but still expensive) KA 275 watt motor.
Plus all of the online horror stories of the KA's breaking down while trying to knead dense bread dough.
This little Bosch compact works great for me and doesn't take up much space.
Plus it gets pretty good reviews:

My poor sometimes startlingly naive wife was gifted one of those DIY whipped cream bottle things that use the nitrous cylinders to charge.  She couldn't figure out why they treated her like a crackhead when she went to get refills.

Love that woman, just wish the world was as nice a place as she sometimes assumes it is.

What is that thing on the right?
Did you make it too?

Looks like a chocolate peanut butter pie.    When I worked at US Steel, they used to have that on occasion in the salaried dining room.  I think the pies wwre actually made somewhere else in pittsburgh, but they were awesome.  They did have a chef at each of the plants who made most of the other stuff.  Some guys were better than at other plants.  I don't know if they had one at the headquaerters building for the employees there (I'm sure the CEO had his own).   It was a heck of a deal - $28 a month if you worked steady daylight, $7 if you worked turns and only got to eat there one or two weeks out of the month.  All you could eat, salad bar if you didn't like the entree, or build a sandwich.  It was the thing I missed most when I quit to work somewhere else.

When we owned coffee shops, had to restrict the number of cartridges we left at the stores because they would disappear quickly if we left more than a few boxes. One of the girls actually called and asked me to stop at the head shop to pick up some whip-its because they were running low.

You wouldn't say that if you saw my hound jump up and run into the kitchen at the slightest sound of Rediwhip being dispensed.

It'll bring him faster than an American cheese wrapper.

Also, it's not nearly as fun to spoon whipped cream on to a girl's naughty parts as it is to squirt it on there.

I enjoyed it.

I may or may have not had a buddy at whose house we would hide in the bushes, and we may or may have not made whip it balloons and may or may not have had them at the ready, and we may or may not have egged adults' cars while at the stop sign, slammed the whipits, and then try to run down the street without falling or getting caught by the angry men that may or may not have gotten out of their car and given chase.
