NEW YORK  — A parking garage near LaGuardia Airport has been evacuated after a suspicious device and a semi-automatic weapon were found in a car returned to a rental agency near the airport Thursday morning, police said.

The device and the Tech-9 weapon were discovered by workers at the rental car agency in Queens when they opened the trunk, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

[red]The device consisted of road flares with a clock attached.[/red] The road flares could not be detonated by the clock, Kelly told Fox News.

The car had summonses attached to it.

Police were called to the scene at about 10:45 a.m., with Emergency Service Unit squads dispatched as well, said police spokeswoman Carmen Melendez. A bomb squad was also on the scene.

It's possible the situation is a hoax, federal law enforcement told Fox News.

OK, who was the smart ass with the bomb clock??[%|]

It's obviously a gag.  Road flares and a tech nine?  That's not dangerous to anyone!

Well a Tech 9 is certaintly a suspicious device!

Talk about how effective propaganda is!  Non gun people know the name, and think it's the pinnicle of firearms design.  Let's see, you've got the Tech 9, then the Sig 550,...

Shh, don't tell them cuz if they ban them by name the Tec-9 is safe.  But who the hell would want to shoot that POS?
