I haven't seen it myself, but I did find that Ebert has put up his review.  He gave it 2.5 stars.

Usually I don't put much weight in the reviews of movie critics.

Perhaps that's because I like movies with lots of grunts, bangs and big booms.

I really wish that they woud have made T3 to take place in the 'future' after Skynet had taken over.  Post apocalyptic movies rock!  James Cameron at the helm would have probably been a big plus too.

Still, I'm crossing my fingers on this one, even though it looks a little too much like a T2, part 2...

I hope it doesn't suck.  The terminator movies are always kick ass.  It would be such a dissapointment if it sucks.

I saw the first possable showing, Great action flic, Guns were OK, glock 18 (i hate glocks so nbd), G36k that he never shoots, krink, browning 1919 (same pc bull shit where he cant kill the cops), Mini gun was firing WAY to slow i think the 1919 had a higher cyclic rate.

The movie was adaquite, action was hard core, destruction of evry thing around them.

hummorous:      "don't do that agin" [ar'nuld]

kristina loken is effing HOT --IHI[sex]

I'd give it an 85% rating

Just got back from the 2nd showing of it today.

I give it a 70%. Go see it but do the matinee.
It's got some really funny parts, really funny. The action is great. Chase scene in the middle that is really good.

No real plot though it is just a connector movie between T2 and T4. I t sort of meanders around trying to explain why this and why that.

Yes this was just a set up for T4.

I just got done viewing it,

Its an ok movie at best.

I thought it was rather bland. Minimal cool toys, big booms and special effects.
IMO T2 was FARbetter. I hope T4 will be better

Watched it tonight.

Chase scene: awsome
Plot: standard
SFX: above average
Arnold: hasn't aged in ten years
Dialogue: standard
Clair Danes: plain as a bag of unsalted chips
Terminatrix: fine as frog hair split 17 ways
John Conner: hasn't got a clue
Skynet: see the movie

I liked it.

Take ANYTHING the critics say and flush it.  Why?  Because Arnold is a conservative republican who will be running for office in the U.S.S.K. (United Socialist State of Kalifornia), the liberal media will do anything they can to undermine him...including bashing his movie.  Just go see it, and help to boost Arrrnooooold's finances a bit so he can breathe some fresh air into that shithole of a state.

If you don't go see T3, I am going to call Hanz & Franz to come crush you between their pumped-up buttock muscles!  Ya!  Dey will!

Guess he got ideas from watching "Demolition Man".  Remember Sandra Bullock talking about "Swarzeneggar Presidential Library..."  then Sly is like "what?" and she says "they made an ammendment to the constitution allowing him to be president even though he's not a natural citizen because he was so well known and liked by Americans..." or something to that effect.  Wouldn't it be quite strange if that little comedy bit proved to be true?

This movie frickin rocked!!! Just got back from seeing it and can't wait for T4, it's gonna be awesome. The TX was hot, though I wish we got a better look at her assets. Although I hate when movies change actors I think this John Conner fit the role better than the first. Had more of a resemblance to Reese.
Anybody else keep wondering why the resistance keeps sending back obsolete T-101s while Skynet sends back ever more advanced Terminators only to get it's ass kicked my the 101. Thats like an Abrams tank getting taken out by a sherman consistantly.

Just saw it today. I thought it was good. Different than what James Cameron would have done, but not in a negative way, just a different directing style. BTW, my teenage son keeps up on sci-fi stuff much more than I do and he says Arnold is either already signed, or real close to signing for not just one, but two more Terminator movies, with a possible extended shoot for both movies at once, similar to what the Lord of the Rings and the Matrix movies did. I thought the T-X actress was gorgeous, FWIW. I read where Arnold spent several months building back up for the role, he is really holding up well, just a little older in the face. I enjoyed it more than the Matrix Reloaded, which was a little disappointing. Definitely worth seeing.

No Sara Connor, no more than 2 & 1/2 stars. Good movie, but it sucked in the shadow of T2- just look at what T2 had going for it-

A soundtrack that included a tie-in music video by one of the biggest rock bands of the day.
A survivalist chick who wasnt really any prettier than any of OUR women, but kicked ass and took names in a SERIOUS way.
Ground breaking special effects and an incredibly original play-out for what was a ho-hum B-movie story concept.
Robert Patrick as one of the spookiest machines hollywood has come up with to date.
One of the best directors in Holloweird.

T3 was good, but it lacked the 'grab' of T2. Claire Danes has been one of my favourite actresses since MTV's "My So-Called Life", and I was REALY looking forward to seeing her take over Linda Hammelton's "amazon" role, which she does for a minute with the AKM vs the 1/2 scale Hunter-Killer but is realy just kinda whiny and pointless for the rest of the film. Its kinda depressing to see because I sorta doubt she'll be back for T4, and I was *really* looking forward to some hot screen shots of her in black fatigues with that AKM :)

Oh- and the Terminatrix was trashy. A good choice for a female killing machine, but gimme a break guys, she looked like a bimbo. Claire was FAR hotter, even if she spent the whole movie in Anne Taylor outfits...

Ya, I was hopeing she would be the next Sara Conner too which I think she will, later on in the trilogy. This was probably hinted by her taking a stand and taking out that droid then by John referring to her as reminding him of his mother. Also remember the Sara Conner in the first movie wasn't really a tuff broad until T2 when she realized she had to protect her son. I CAN'T WAIT FOR T4!!!
Oh ya how bout that American wedding!!! YES!!!

T3 was awesome!

Probably  not as good as #1, but WAY better than #2.

#2 was all about the "kewl" factor.  Arnold & his sunglasses, the boy being a little shit, the special effect, the PC "don't kill humans" stuff.

#3 was a much darker, more emotional tale like #1.

Much better, IMHO

just another voice from the crowd,

i thought it rocked. im not gonna say better or worse than 1 and 2, just rocked.

i was a little worried about the chick terminator, but it worked. i also think the coffen on shoulder 1919 shootout was the best thing i have ever seen, and im not sure why.

After I saw T3 on the first night it showed, I started a thread to comment on it. No spoilers, just a plain review...

Anyway, here's my take:

1. This Terminator movie did not have the "fit and finish" or "polish" of a James Cameron film. The progression of the film was not as seamless as one of his movies. Things kind of just happened without being worked up to, one scene just jumped to another with little connecting them.

The textures, colors, and pace were all noticably different than the first two movies.

2. Claire Danes was "All-American" pretty. The kind of gal you want by your side when things go to shit. I think she was correctly cast as John Connor's life mate. Good choice, well thought out, very believable. I'd definately take her in a heartbeat.

3. The Terminatrix character was ruthless but something in me thinks not quite as much as the T-1000 (Robert Patrick) and not nearly as much as the first T-101 (Arnold in the original Terminator).

BTW, the chick who played the TX is hot enough to make your eyes boil. Damn, was she smokin.'

4. The actor who played John Connor was OK, perhaps average or a little better than that. Nothing more to say.

5. The cameo by Dr. Silberman could have been priceless, but it was so forced, so contrived, I just shook my head in disbelief. They turned his introduction and exit into something worthy of a "C" rated film. Not even worthy of a "B" flick.

6. The action in the film was pretty good, except alot of it was CGI. I'm getting sick of CGI. The stuff that they actually had to do with stuntwork was pretty impressive.

7. The guns were decent, about par for Terminator flicks.

8. If this movie did not have the ending it did, it would have sucked. The ending raised the bar on an average/slightly above average movie. Kind of like a late rally on Wall Street to put a pretty face on a ho-hum trading day at the stock market. Pretty darn good ending.

That about sums it up for me.

I definitely think James Cameron would've done better, but this wasn't bad. I'll probably buy the DVD.

On Sarah Conner,

A good mom makes you cookies, a great mom makes weapon caches for you.

"Mom, can I have an RPG?"

I also loved watching Claire take out that H&K with an AK.

Also why don't the humans ever get the cool Terminators?

Overall, I thought T3 was awesome - it left a better impression on me then the sequel to the original Matrix. With all the advancements in special effects over the last few years, I think most movie watchers have been excessively spoiled. I agree that the John Conner role could have been much better played - its kind of too bad that Sarah Conner isn't in T3 - but her "remains" were most interesting - you know what I mean if you saw the movie. I may see T3 again in theaters - I think the plot was decent - much better then Matrix Reloaded or XMen 2......I originally liked T1 and T2 for the guns/shooting, the post-apocalyptic plot/survivalist scenario, and the cool special effects (special effects more so in T2 and T3). I wouldn't see T3 is better then the two movies which precedeed it but nearly equal in most aspects - its hard to beat the original two movies for creativity in the plot line and everything else.

T1 was one of the first and one of the best sci-fi movies I had seen.  T2 was just as good because it gave a new and ORIGINAL twist to T1. After that there wasn't much intrigue, subtly and story line left to the terminator.

T3 was just eye candy/mind numbing, unoriginal story line and inappropriate comedy.  I didn't expect to laugh at the terminator or be ga-ga'd by a terminator with a nice arse.  It's no wonder James Cameron and the original actors turned this movie down.  I was highly dissapointed.

I saw it last night, and liked it. A previous post was correct in it is not as polished as T2. Although I thought Nick Stahl did OK, I would be curious to have seen how Eddie Furlong would have done in continuing the role.

As to Arnold, he is the Terminator.Although I am still trying to figure out if Arnold looks better with a 1911, or the Glock 18, lol. The female terminator is smoking hot, I never saw a Air Force uniform look so good before.

It blew The Hulk away (which I thought sucked!). I would list T3 as good as T1, and T2 slightly ahead in first place. The only movie that may give it a run for its money this summer is League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which along with T3 were the two movie I was looking forward to this summer.
