The Obama administration has announced a final rule prohibiting smoking in public housing developments nationwide.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development says more than 228,000 public housing units are already smoke-free. The rule HUD announced Wednesday will expand the impact to more than 940,000 units.

The final rule prohibits lit tobacco products in all living units and indoor common areas, and all outdoor areas within 25 feet of housing and administrative offices.

Cigarettes, cigars, pipes and hookahs will be forbidden. The ban does not apply to e-cigarettes.

comment 1 = only applies to tobacco not pot
comment 2 = no one will enforce it unless the power to fine is handed to the cities

comment3 = I fully  support this act & believe offenders should be removed after one offense and if more than 10 do not comply the entire unit should be condemned for public safety te occupants moved to the nearest major city with anti smoking campaigns in effect

The most likely smokers ARE welfare recipients. How are they going to enforce it indoors without massive water damage? Halon? And outdoors? Automatic water cannon turret with IR detection?

And 25 feet, go fuck yourself. Try 250 feet. Who's big the tobacco lobbyist who said smoke stops at 25 feet?

Meh

Every single house in America until the what... the 90s? Had been smoked in. Not every house is ruined.

Just requires a deeper clean more often, with more attention placed on the walls and carpet despite how clesn they appesr. The ones that are disgusting would have been disgusting regardless because of the lack off cleaning.

Just my opinion tho.

Also, I'm unsurprised that dear leader would take a lesson from Hitler.

Good.  Probably 90% of people in goverment housing voted for him, and why should the tax payer foot the bill to repair the damage that smoking causes to these buidlings?

I'll be sure to report every single one of them that I see for violating rules that their lord and savior Barrack Obama put into place for them.
