An unusual crappy day at work made me want to stop at my friendly neighborhood gun store on the way home. I picked up a 25th anniversary bushy. For some strange reason, I was drawn to it's nickel plated bling bling accoutrements. Now I need more optics.

I could never own a weapon with that many "highlights".  To me it looks as ridiculous as those "commerative" rifles that are advertised in magazines...  especically when it is done to a black rifle.  It is not even a pre-ban, to boot!

Some peoples kids....

Well you are going to hate this, I have went into a store and walked out with a gun in less than 15 minutes here in Colorado. Our checks go through the CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigations) so it is even faster and no waiting periods. [nana]

How dare you compare the PRK to CO?
Thats like comparing life in the most oppressive parts of China to life in Texas!

And I thought all of the US could walk in and buy a long gun at a store with no hassle above the (sometimes not-so)instant check.  Now I feel really stupid.

This one showed up a little over a week ago and today I punched a little paper with it.

Being as I generally suck when it comes to hitting anything with a pistol.......this was at 7 yards. I was still impressed being that the gun is 47 years old.

Aaaah...so a firearm doesn't absolutely have to be 50 years old to be eligible as a C&R?  Ya learn somethin' new every day.

10 days? fuck that... in oregon you walk in and walk out, with "assault rifles" none the less.  I can't wait untill i'm old enough to buy more dangerous guns, like hand guns!

You bet I'm gonna shoot it. I haven't bought a gun yet to just look at. It's 350 out of 1500, and I don't think it has enough bling on it to make me look like a pimp [;)]. It's just a little different from the others in the safe.

Here in Texas if you have a CHL they don't even do a background check. I can walk out with a gun as fast as I can fill out the yellow form and pay the money, so about 5 minutes.

I bet you could find a can of black spray paint laying around somewhere and make that rifle looks less like a painted up trollop and more like the fine non-descript rifle I know.

I wish I had one [;D]

Cool, is the white metal a chrome, or stainless? If it's stainless a brush, or bead job would help tone it done just a little for tactical reasoners, but I doubt you bought it for that. Congrats on adding to your collection.

It can actually be 6 months old, as long as the ATF has classified it as a "Curio."
