I'm still waiting for the form 4, but my dealer was kind enough to bring it to Bulletfest with him.
I got to play with it all day. [:D]

I brought several uppers with me, two different buttstocks, and three different buffers to try...

I was swapping stuff back and forth so fast I felt like I was on a Nascar team. [:D]

Yes, that is probably true Med08...[:D]

But I was able to learn quickly what was going to work and what wasn't...

It ran 100% in the config shown in the pic...
I had some problems with the 11.5" 7.62x39 upper, but I think it's a mag related problem...
I know it will also run 100% with the 7.5" upper on it...

The distance was pretty long for a MG shoot, so I finally settled on the A2 buttstock and 20" upper...
When I bring the lower home, I'll probably put it back together like it's pictured above...

After he spent the day with us all he could talk about was machineguns. [:D]

Sell that fancy new truck of yours and you can buy more than just a lil ole MAC...

That's why you see C3 guys driving inexpensive vehicles...
All the $$$ goes into the C3 stuff...

You should see what Mario drives. [:D]
Hell, I don't think Shaggy even has a car. [:D]

Um....

NO. Full auto.

It's a Colt SP1 registered receiver...

I won't be able to take it home 'till around August or so...
I'm just waiting for my form 4 from ATF...

My dealer was kind enough to bring it with him to Bulletfest for me to shoot all day...

Of course the selector was never taken off "AUTO" [:D]

Nice rifle. Also I really had no idea you could switch the uppers around if you wanted too. That's sweet! There's no way I could afford C3 right now, but some day.....

$6,000 if you're lucky. For the most part the prices seem to start around $7,000 and on up to the $15,000 M16A2 commandos.

... You got a "conjugal visit" as my dealer once told me, when he brought my class III to a shootfest near Mesa once.

... That is one sweet SP1

As it's pictured, I have approx 8k into it...

If I include the cost of the spare parts, and 3 other upper assys I have sitting in the safe, I have approx 10k total invested...

And then there's the $600 AAC Ranger Supressor I have on the way too. [:D]
Form 4 is due any day now.

I really couldn't afford all this stuff, but seeing how fast the prices are climbing, I decided to "find" a way to do it...
A little creative financing is all it took...

Mario & Shaggy are now trying to talk me into buying my first beltfed, a 1919...
Maybe next Spring...[:D]

Thanks,

But I was wondering if I could save some $'s buy just buying a C# lower.

What do you think?

You just missed a $6k Olympic in the M16 forums...
That is rare, as the RDIAS's are going over that now...

I bought my '16 as a complete lower receiver only, and paid $7500 for it.
I was happy to pay it since it was already in PA, and was a Colt SP1.

I have no intention of "cluttering it up" with bells and whistles...

I'm 'sorta old-fashioned, and prefer to leave them as they were from the factory, or at least "close". [:D]

The most I'll do is hang the 7.5" pistol upper on it, or the AAC Ranger suppressor.

Otherwise, it's Iron sights and plastic handguards for me...

Yup, I'm screwed! Gotta have me an M16, sooner rather than later. Just gotta work out my creative financing strategy....

I don't know how you guys sleep at night, Art! The guilt of ruining people's lives and all...

Thank God they are such a great investment![;)]

Edited to add: It was great meeting you, Shaggy, Mario, and Howard! Thanks for letting me play with your toys!

too bad by the time im 21, the prices for C3 lowers, or even autosears will be around 20G's
.. not to mention I live in the peoples republick of New yorck.

It was a pleasure Gus...
I only wish it wasn't so crowded in our area, we might have been able to share more toys with familiar people...
There were too many strangers wandering in & out of the space.
We caught strangers handling our C3 firearms without permission, or our prior knowledge on two seperate occasions.
Needless to say it was NOT cool...
As innocent as it may have been, the ignorance was totally unacceptable, and they were scolded and promptly asked to leave.
Now I know EXACTLY why Howard had the orange fence around his booth...

I knew it even then. I spent quite a bit of time just standing around trying to help keep an eye on things. I still had enough to addict me though....Bastards!
