I am at work today, and have been here since 7AM. I come in on weekdays at 8 AM, so when I work Saturdays I have to be here earlier than a normal day. I work about one saturday every two months because we have 8 people on Saturday rotation. Today I am missing an IDPA match to work, but I figured that was better than swapping for next saturday and screwing up a 3 day weekend. What is aggrevating is that these Saturdays shoot the whole weekend to shit. Have to be up early on Sat, so Fri night is shot, then having gotten up so damn early today, tonight will be shot 'cause I'll be wiped out. But hey, it's only once every 8 weeks. On my next job it will probably be alternating weekends. Plus that job is 20 miles from my house instead of 4 like the one I'm on now.
So, somebody make me feel good, tell me you regularly work 6 days a week. |

if it makes you feel any better, I have and do work Saturdays sometimes.
Usually, it is some home based work for my day job (research, designs, catch up on emails, etc). Other times, I work my part-time job that is 140 miles away. Today is not one of those days. I am waiting for my buddy to wake up and we can hit the range. -934 |

... Well, not "regularly" norman74, but enough. In fact, I'm doing work for the Company today between reading threads and posting replies now. I don't get directly compensated for it either. In fact, I'm not sure anyone knows or cares. I do though, I pretty much work alone 70% of the time. I take pride in my work.

I'm going in today. It's not a regular thing, except when work piles up, like right now. And no overtime etc for us salaried employees.
I work the third weekend of every month and one night a week. However, if anyone goes on vacation, I might work two weekends and two nights in a week. It's not as bad as when I worked retail, though. (plus, I can wear jeans on the weekends [:D])
I work saturdays far too often. Usually about on to three saturdays a month during the busy season. On top of 9-10 hour days.
And hanging drywall like that in 90 degree heat really kicks your ass. When I was younger I'd some times work 5-6 weeks in a row without a day off in the middle of the summer. Not into doing that as much now though. Wasn't born rich, so hard work is the only way to get anywhere. |
i am on call 24x7 so weekend work is pretty much a given. Then there are special projects and equipment install that are scheduled and can only be done after hours or on weekends.
May and june i worked my normal 8-5 and every sat. so far this month i have 2 off. Last weekend and this one just because i took vacation to get a damn weekend off. mike |

Every other Saturday and an occasional Sunday if needed. (retail sux but not as bad as the restaurant business did)

I work every third Saturday. 8am to 1pm.
On the up side, after I work a Saturday, I get to leave at three hors early the next Friday. I went out last night. I got about 3 hours of sleep, my ass is dragging today. |

I work when there is something that needs to be done. Let's see, is there anything that needs to be done today? Nope, not working today. That was easy.
Every Saturday, I work a compressed work week. So I always have a three or four day weekend.
I have Thursday and Fridays off.....and I work nights..........so I work just about every Saturday. [shock]
Every single one. 78 hours last week, 84 this week, 86 next week. I am a glutton for punishment.
I'm in the office almost every Saturdy. I pay the bills, send out invoices (or "printing money" as we call it), do project management analysis stuff, go through my mail, clean off my desk, go to lunch with my partner and his daughter (who is about my age and does the books), and do real work as well. There are many times that I can get more productive work done on a single Saturday than I can in a whole week, especially if I've been out in the field during the week. I don't really mind it. The office is usually just my partner and I all day, with his daughter in for a few hours at midday. I can listen to whatever music or ballgame I want, as loud as I want without disturbing the rest of the office. I miss out on soem fun with the kids, though.

Every other weekend for the last six years. Love it, wouldn't trade it for a 9-5 any day.

Every Saturday for the past 10 years.
At this time of year, it's a $600 night, just for getting people fat and drunk. Plus I contribute business to the Personal Fitness Trainers by keeping people fat and drunk. |
I work every Sat and Sun. I make my best money on the weekends. From thanksgiving till easter its seven days a week. I can take whatever time I need or want but I get no paid leave.
The plane is down for repair and I'm off today until at least noon. |
I have been working weekends and holidays since the day I first put my hands on a saute pan!!!
Chefs-we work nights, weekends. and holidays. Heck, Thanksgiving is a 12 hour day! |
FWIW, ive worked every Saturday and Sunday for the past 1 1/2 years, except for the ones Ive takin vacation on or called in. But my regular days off are Wed,Thurs.
I work from 11 pm to 7 am Wednesday thru Sunday. So I work every Saturday.
every saturday (except 3 for vacation) at 6am for the last 5 years. my normal days off are monday and tuesday.
i work every sat, just 6-12 noon though,
56 hours a week for the past 18 yrs. it really sucks but i hate to pass up the overtime.i need it for the family. |
I work a lot of saturdays. My work schedule is set up for rotating off days three weeks of five on and two off then one week of six on and three off. I only get saturdays every 3-4 months
I've worked every Saturday and Sunday, except when I've had something else I had to do like going to a wedding or putting a new roof on my house, for the past nine years. If you ever wondered why I'm so cranky, that's why. It's not my age. It's because it's been nine long years since I've had a vacation. On the other hand, I'm glad I have a job I can work seven days per week. Without that, I couldn't afford my wife's nursing home.z

I've been working Saturdays, lately. Today, I had to be in at 0430. Sucked pretty bad.
I seldom have a weekend where I don't spend at least a few hours at work. Being a lawyer sucks.
FIRST Saterday I havent worked in 3 years !!!!!!!! YAHOOOO!!!!

I have to work every other weekend (Fri Sat Sun). Have for the last 10 years. 12 hour shifts also (6pm-6am). Most holidays too! but glad they pay triple time
I worked pretty much every damn Saturday - and a LOT of Sundays, till last year.
Now I'm self-employed, and if I do work weekends it's MY decision, for MY benefit, not the sorry mother f*ucker who's (under) paying me. [:D] |
How often?
Every Saturday! normal schedule: Sat night - 1700-0600 Sun night - 1700-0600 Mon night - 1700-0600 Tue night - 1700-2100 |
Just got home from being called in to work. But, I don't mind. I just put in some network addresses for the 11th Signal Brigade deployed in Iraq.
Every day for me!
Afterall, someone has to put food in the stores for you soft slobs! But then, thats farming. |
Every Saturday from 0730-1430, plus one or two Sundays per month. Summer is by far the busiest time of the year at the shop, plus I'm trying to save up money to get out of NY so it all works out. Although I rarely do get time to shoot these days:(

In 20 years with GTE/Verizon I have worked Saturdays probably 15 1/2 years. The good thing was I always had Sun/Mon off. Worked Sundays probably 2 1/2 years of that with every two day or split days off you can think of. I got lucky this week, we have a 23 year man working Saturdays next week because me and another guy with less time are on vacation. He's pissed! If I hadnt picked next week for vacation I'd have had to work and I'd be pissed.
My workgroup of 14 guys I'm 4th from the bottom with 20 years. The bottom guy has less than five. His life will suck for about the next 10 years if he sticks with it. All I can say is I feel for you brother, I've done my time.[:)] |
I work every Saturday. Hell, I'd work every Sunday if they would let me. If I could get by with it I would work 16hr days 6 days a week. I'd do it for the next 10 years and then I would retire at 35 and goof off for the rest of my life.

I work a rotating schedule that has me working 10 days on and getting 4 days off. Here is how it looks......
Wed 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm Thurs 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm Fri 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm Sat 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm Sun 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Mon 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Tues 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Wed 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Thurs 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Fri 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Sat OFF Sun OFF Mon OFF Tues OFF Repeat Makes it damn hard to get used to a certain shift. The 4 day weekends are nice though. |
