He's out of there. At least he wasnt touching kids
(Richmond, VA) -- Parishioners say he could not walk the walk for the talk he talked and now a south side preacher is off the job. By a vote of 185-41, members of Richmond's Morning Star Baptist Church have ousted the Reverend Jerry L. McCrary Jr. from the pulpit. After first allowing McCrary to stay on the job after several run-ins with the law, the congregation reversed itself on Sunday. McCrary had been cited twice in just over a year for drunk driving and then again for driving on a suspended license. But the appearance in the press last week of a McCrary mugshot apparently was too much. The photo showed McCrary wearing makeup and a woman's wig following an arrest for allegedly making a sex-for-money proposition offer to an undercover city policeman. McCrary was convicted of prostitution in February. He was prohibited from preaching last Sunday prior to the vote.
