I've been here since 1997 and I've never had a post locked. However, I did once have a email edited to the old ar15.com list for those of you who have been around long enough to remember that.

I think I win this one.

I started a thread about The Firing Line board closing.  Nothing extreme until a fracas ensued between Goatboy and some of the old Castle Arms crew.  So my thread was locked and trashed because of a fight involving the admin of this board.[ROFL]

I posted a cold link to a really nasty picture of a rectal prolapse that was supposed to have been a weightlifting accident.    Later reports pegged it as a bizarre sexual practice performed by some homosexuals.

It was pretty foul, either way.

It was a good one.

About 3-4 years ago, someone posted about wanting to keep 600-800 yards from a bear with a Weatherby Mag.

A few folks interpreted that as starting to shoot that far out and continue blasting till the critter was dead.  Easy to interpret it that way as the poster had poor writing skills and a severe case of Magnumitis.

The writer basically challenged everyone present to a flame war, and that thread and the several successive threads ended up in the recycle bin.

The writer bit off a lot more than he could back up, and any mention of the topic was deleted.

I made an oblique reference to the tussle a few months ago and a couple folks responded in a joking way.

I once posted on a thread, that got locked as I submitted my reply. The system accepted my post, but it didn't make it on the thread. Thats as close as I've gotten.

A long, long time ago in a kingdom totally unrecognizable as to what it's become today- sometime about the year 1999 or 2000, there was a little thread called "Racist Racist Racist!"...

and I think...

RGUNS

The first time, I had my account locked after exchanging a few expletives with DonR over RGUNS/KMA but got reinstated after I cooled down enough to ask to come back. GoatBoy was always pretty cool about it as has been EdAvilaSr.

I do like it here.

But I like RGUNS less[slap]

Kiss My Ass(KMA/RGUNS/etc/etc)can still kiss my ass.[moon] Actually it has gotten pretty humorous at times.[:D]

When I was new to the general sight, I posted does anyone here like to shoot cats? or something like that. BeeKeeper1 jumped on it like stink on a skunk. I was embarrassed by the mistake of breaking the rules without thinking about it, & IM'd him to apologize. He said no problem, & that he is a confirmed cat killer himself, but rules is rules.[:D] None since, but I can usually spot a sure candidate for locking pretty quick.

I try to shoot at least one cat/week. The DNR really watches for poaching of deer, wolves, coons, bear, etc. so it's all I have left. An' ya know I get pretty damn hungry sometimes.

Cat fricasee, pussy stew, meow shiskabobs...God, I think I'm addicted

As all of my posts are helpful and/or informative, it still perplexes me as to why some of them had been locked in the past. Misapplication of the code of conduct by overzealous and biased mods?

I think the only thread Ive had locked was one about my moms drug abuser neighbor confronting her after she called the cops on him for noise.

It was locked because of all the illegal (yet hilarious) suggestions for how to deal with him.

I replied to a post of Natalie Maine's husband being of Arab descent...I used a term of a geologic/geographic feature and a contraction of a small, nocturnal animal.  Topic was locked faster than a keg floats at a frat party.

Wow! So Natlie Maines' husband is arab! That explains EVERYTHING.

I've too have been a Slayer of Felines since childhood! Ah, that  scoped out Ruger 10/22.....live in the city now so no more Meow Meow.
