Well, I got the house all to myself tonight, all alone, and I would like know what all of you use to hold down your fort and to let any intruders know that you ARE the king of the castle.  Me, all i got is my 20" varmint AR since it is the only firearm I own at the moment.  Rather have a carbine, but it is better than nothing.  Got my cat standing guard too [:D].  Feel free to post pics.

Usually have my Sig 239 .40cal hand w/ and extra mag of 135gr Fed Hydrashock.  When I get more comfortable w/ my SA 1911A1 Mil-Spec, she'll be gracing my coffee table half the time.

I think my next HD piece will be a 20" Mossberb 590 w/ ghostrings.

Whatever I have out of the safe at the time. Right now I have a 16" CAR15 with a wannabe M203 next to me. Sometimes it's a Mossberg 590 or an AK or just one of my Glocks or 1911's...

I have even just kept an old Mosen Nagant M44 or a Keltec P32 next to the bed....Like I said, it depends on what's out of the safe at the time.. Out of the "many-something" firearms I own, I love em all and give them all quality time to feel important... [:D]

Right now an M1 Garand! Overkill (can you say over-penetrate) I know but I sold my Beretta and my AR, and my M1 carbine (the goto HD weapon) is in pieces awaiting shipment to be re-parked.  I guess I could use my muzzleloader in a pinch.

Glock 17 with a spare mag in my nightstand and a big ass mag light.  I am going to add a Mossberg 590 soon.

I had a code red tonight.  Some idiot "associate" of my tweeker roommate was pounding on my front door.  By the time I got my shoes and gun on, he was gone.  The roommate will be gone real fucking soon as well.

Well ... I live in a REALLY small apartment, so my defense is entirely dependent on where I am at the moment somebody decides to break in here.  If I'm not close enough to my AR, I have several swords, daggers, and very sharp knives mounted on the walls or on display otherwise, and if I'm not within reach of one of those, then most likely I'm sitting right here (or in the bathroom, in which case I'm fucked) and the only thing I can get on quick notice is my pair of acrylic nunchucks that could easily crack a skull.

All things being equal, I guess I'm as good as dead if an armed assailant comes crashing through my door unless I can get my ass in gear and save up enough money to buy a handgun like I've been meaning to

My wife has a Mossberg Home Security System (20 ga. 500 w/ 18-1/2" bbl) that I got her after we were married.  My first responder is a 9mm P-11 loaded with Hydrashoks, and the AR is handy just in case.

Well, in the bedroom nightstand is my 1911A1, under the bed is my Mossburg .410 (can't remember if it's loaded or not) and in the living room on the computer desk (hidden in a day planner) is my Bersa .380.  Various blunt or sharp objects all over the place almost!

Upon review and consideration of leftist anti-gun propaganda, I have elected to follow the "Signs" technique of home defense; ie: A single dad living in the country elects to huddle, unarmed, with his kids in the root cellar whilst ne'er do wells break into his home.....NOT!

Guns in the home are the cause of many fatal accidents and are more likely to cause harm to those living in the home than to an attacker.

The police do a fine job of patroling my city and they will be here in time to protect myself, my girlfriend and my property.

My firearms are for sporting purposes only.  I always lock them up and secure them in my home, as not to cause any harm to me.

However, I sometimes forget to lock up my Sig P226 and Mossberg 590.  I hope they don't hurt anyone...

I did not know that SureFire redesigned their flashlight forearms! IBEDAMN.

Have you ever used one of the older ones? How does the new one compare?

I see there is a thumb switch (left side), is there a switch on the other side as well?

Thanks!

Mossberg 590 under the bed with 00 and a couple rounds of #4 Tactical at the bottom of the stack; extra ammo in nightstand.

Glock 30 loaded with Gold Dots, extra mag and ammo in nightstand.

Wife has a Glock 19 loaded with Ranger SXT's, extra mag and ammo.

Surefire G2's in both our nightstands.

Cell phone stays in the bedroom.  The door is always locked.  Anybody wanting in is going to have to try to kick the door open, hopefully buying me enough time to roll off the bed and grab the 590.

We have 9 nephews and nieces and one grandson ranging in age from 2 years old to 13 so our PDF is kept handy but safe. all the other guns are kept in the gun safe.
since my wife is recoil shy we keep a weapon that she as well as I can use.
what we use for Home defense at night is,

S&W M-640 stainless, with black neoprene grips, a hammerless 5 shot .38 spl. 2" barrel loaded with 110 gr. hydrashock, this is my wife's gun.

I use a blued Colt Lawman MK-III with Hougue neoprene target grips, 6 shot .357 Magnum 2" barrel loaded with 110 gr. hydrashock .38 spl.

These would be used primarily in the house.

if I know in advance I will be in a gun battle I will get my Colt .45 ACP 1911A1 series 70 government model with Pachmayer signature grips and fixed sights.
Or My Colt AR-15 sporter, no bolt assist, triangular hand guard, old style adjustable combat sights.

If all else fails I will sic my female Cocker Spaniel (Samantha) on the perp.
