I am looking at AmmoSeek and freedom munitions is the cheapest brass cased 45 ACP in the search results. Has the hive had good experience with it? I need relatively cheap practice/plinking ammo.

It's good practice ammo.

I haven't had a single failure with it, and it seems consistent.

Have shot a ton of it, always goes bang.   I always buy some when they run a free shipping promo.

Their 9mm brass uses a stepped case, not advisable to reload it, but I don't know about their .45 brass.

I'm fairly new to reloading. What's a stepped case and why would it bad to reload it?

Stick with their factory new stuff. Avoid their remans.

Same here.  Shoot mostly their 9mm and it is pretty accurate too.

I have used a few hundred rounds across 40 and 223 reman lines and all has been good for me.

9mm is steel case with brass wash, if that matters to you.

Care to explain why? I've bought thousands of rounds from them, all reman. It's fine, never had a single issue, shoots like factory ammo of the same quality (any cheap brass cased, US made ammo is comparable, I'd say.) Haven't bough a single batch of factory new rounds from them yet.

If that's the one you buy then it is, it's just one option though.

I WILL NOT SHOOT FM AMMO IN ANY GUN.

I have seen several kabooms. Common thing. Search this site and google it.

FFM.

I've bought a couple orders.

IMO it was below-avg ammo that is not that much cheaper than good ammo.  And there have been a lot of kaboomstuff.

Some people swear by it, though.

I've shot a few thousand of their stuff.

I stopped buying it due to all the kabooms I read about.

Never had an issue myself, but read about too many.

I bought 4k rounds of their reman 9mm when I got some glock mag AR's.

It's almost all gone.

No ammo related issues to report.

(As a complete aside, I refer to my 9mm AR's as the orgasmatrons, they're that fun)

Depends what you're shooting it in. For a pistol or semi-auto pistol caliber carbine it may work fine but it is at least 10% underpowered through many thousands of rounds I purchased and shot.

Softest brass I have ever seen. This is from using FM in an MP5.

Far more trustworthy ammo can be had for the same price

Their 9mm FTEs in two different guns for me, stopped using it..

ETA: Good if you want to practice live malfunctions, I guess..

I've never used it since I have seen first hand several people have issues with it.

I've got about 400rds of 9mm that has been sitting in the garage that I'll never touch again.  Pay a little more and get some good ammo.
