I was never a Kate Smith fan, but I have to give a big Amen to Ray Charles' America. That has to be Numero Uno in my book. America the Beautiful, and dunno if it is considered "Patriotic", but I also love to hear the Navy's Men's Chorus singing "Eternal Father" (aka the "Navy Hymn"). If that doesn't send shivers down your spine! I like all the George M. Cohen patriotic tunes (She's a Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle Dandy,etc). Don't forget the Glen Miller Orchestra playing American Patrol.
I like hearing a recitation of "High Flight" which all airmen should be able to recite from memory. I will quote here if you will kindly indulge me:
High Flight
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds--and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of--wheeled and soared and swung
Hung in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
