How do you like it?

Any good CCW holsters for it?

I do. 30S

It shoots nice. failures every few mags, however. Any resistance on the slide highly affects the cycling of the gun. One of the only Glocks I would not recommend. I do enjoy shooting it, but It's not something I would trust my life with.

ETA: I shoot that gun better than everything but my VP9. It's insanely accurate and easy to shoot. I purchased a cheapo IWB holster off amazon, which has actually been much better than my Galcos.

If I could do it over again, I'd pick up a P01 or G19.

Great question, one I struggled with last year. Glock, I want a Gen4 30s!  Buy no, you don't make it. I finally decided on the Gen4 30 because of my love for all things Gen4. Love it!

What's the real difference between the 30S and Gen4 30?

My understanding the 30S is a mix of Gen4 30 parts?

I've been CCW'ing a 30SF for almost a year now.  I shoot it very well and have only had one FTF in 600 rounds (Monarch steel cased).

I have a Hybrid Hidden Holster that has been perfect.

The 30S is a mixture of a 36 slide and 30sf frame

I have both.  If you want a .45 get the 30s.  I would skip both and get a Glock 19.

Buy a 30s.  Put the slide on your gen4 and sell the 30sf.  You wont be out much $.

HKs do that. I had a HK USP9 combat competition with light lem and I could shoot dime sized groups. Never been able to do it again with another 9MM.

I'm selling a 30 sf with three mags and a box of bullets through it for $500 if interested.

Excellent CCW gun. Easy to Carry IWB with a good holster.
Bought Gen3 used and has been 100%.
As reliable as my  Glock 19 I purchased in 1990. Can carry it as easy as the 19.....  I can feel a little difference but no one ever knows.

If you like 45 ACP it's a great and reliable firearm.

I have a 30S, no failures of any going through my stash of all kinds of reloaded rounds and wwb ball. Finding the right holster takes some research, I have an old galco thumbbreak holster for a Sig P220 that turned out to be a good fit. Supposedly more 30S dedicated holsters will be hitting the market soon.

30S fits the same holster as a G29

I have G4 30, got in a trade.
Like it, shoots great, so far it's been flawless.

So far its just been a range toy while I'm looking for a  holster.

Great feedback ya'll, thank you.

I have a shetload of 9mm handguns, but the only .45s I have are 1911s.

A trip to the LGS, the 30S caught my eye. I fingered it and it felt great in my hand, but I wasn't sure if there were any issues out there.  I like the compact size, the slim fame, and lighter weight over the 30, but I am sure those few ounces add a bit of recoil.

Are there any 30S specific Kydex holsters out there, for both OWB and IWB that you recommend?  What about mag holders?

The regular 30 slide is a fucking shoebox.  There's been murmurs of glock debating on stopping the original 30 after gen 4, but there's noting valid I can find on the idea.

The 30S slide makes the gun feel completely different, it's so much lighter.  The thinness alone makes it the better purchase.
