Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne (of the deceptive CNN Assault Weapons Demo fame) just became the most powerful man in the county.

Last election he pushed for the creation of a Strong Mayor position that was to be created with him in mind. Voters defeated the measure. So today the City Commision voted to give him control of Fire-Rescue services under his direction as head of the Broward Sheriffs Office.

This is the same City Commission that voted 11-1 to pass a bill that would have given us Kali style gun laws in Broward County. Thank God Governor Jeb Bush was in office to prevent that from becoming a law, Janet Reno sure as hell would have signed it.

Politically he's a moron.

First he alienated liberals by raiding a private swing club and arrested everyone inside. Two local teachers lost their jobs for having sex with each other in the club, they were married.

Then he alientated conservatives by requesting Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Florida State Rep and Broward County School Board member, who is herself a high school dropout who later got a "honorary" college degree) propose the Broward County Assault Weapon Ban.

Everyone hates this POS, but somehow he keeps getting newer and more powerful positions of authority.

He is a Sheriff who has never served a single day as a LE officer of any kind.

For years he created a local machine gun ban by refusing to sign any Form 4s. Several people hit his office with a class action suit last year and he stated signing. However, he couldn't sign personally since he is not and never has been a sworn officer. He currently has a adjutent in his office sign the Form 4s.
