Life with Christ in it is quite pleasant. Which is not to say nasty things like cancer don't happen to your wife, but Christ does help it all make sense.

Sorry for the gratuitous religious comment.

Sounds like you're having a rough week, Imbroglio. People can be cruel at times and have a definite tendency to kick you when you're down. Pull back a little and concentrate on what's important to you for the short term. Work on family, close relationships and by all means take time for yourself. By this I mean excercise, spend some time outside-get out in the woods, etc. After a short interval get yourself back into the normal flow of life. There are also meds that can help but if you can do it on your own that would sure be my recommendation. Most important, IMHO, is excercise. Good luck and remember this is a tough time of year. I see more psychopathology in the spring than around the holiday season and negative feelings are quite contagious.

You also forgot

Lonelyness,
Anguish,
Bitterness,
feeling misunderstood,
Poverty,
never having the L.E.G.P. you want,
alcoholism,
and having a small penis.

Those do not apply to me but I thought that maybe you'd forgotten some of your other shortcoming/sorrows. I hope I was helpful. By the way I am only kidding. I'm sure from what you described life could only get better.

It's another word for boredom, pronounced, "En-wee".

I would second the comment of garandman, as my youth pastor is fond of saying, "God finds you when you are broken," and you sound rather thuroughly broken, man. I would advise you to find a church that can help you with you suffering by leading you to Christ. I'd explain salvation from beginning to end right here, as would garandman, I am sure, but I don't want forty atheists clamoring for my head on a stick for excessive religious content. I could email you, because I also think that Christ would help make sense of your life, regardless of it's condition.

No apology for religious content.

You forgot:
Inspiration
Love
Friendship
Awe
Discovery
Peace
Laughter
Contentment
Exhaustion (the good kind)
Sharing
and, most importantly, PERSPECTIVE.
Once you have that, the others follow quickly.

I'll second that notion.

Most all that's bad in the world happens becasue people act based on bad information, and with too much emotion.

Take comfort in the fact that there are others in worse shape than you.  If in doubt, go visit a childrens hospital.  You will see small children with horrific ailments yet they all possess an enlightening spirit for living that will make your problems pale in comparison.

In other words, SURVIVE!

All of the positive things listed are possible only if there is HOPE, as in there is something good to look forward to.

I know for a fact that I will get some type of terminal disease soon. It is in my destiny.

Maybe my purpose in life is to make others feel grateful that they are not in my shoes.

"Is there anything else ...."

Depends on the definition of "is"........

Sorry....didn't mean to be flippant.  Well, yes, I did.....

Think about exploring some of the pagan belief systems...they have no more validity than the rest, but the holidays are a bunch more fun, and the women are really interesting.

End gratuitous pagan input.....

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are:

War,
Famine,
Pestilence
and Death.

The aforementioned lists fail in comparison, as these four hold all of the others.

Now, in general...
aren't we fortunate?
