Other than what I am trained for professionally, I would have to say that I am an authority on Holley race carburetors and tuning them for drag racing or very high performance street engines. Ditto for race automotive ignition systems. Maybe authority is a strong word - expert might be more like it. It's my specialty!

I am an authority on grammar. For example, you ended your post’s topic with a preposition. You should have instead typed, “On what are you an authority?”
I’m just kidding with you of course. You make a very interesting and valid point. I’ve seen people in all walks of life miss out on learning opportunities because they thought they already knew it all. I think that’s why most women are very good students when learning to shoot. They don’t have the attitude most men have. Try to give the guy in the next lane a friendly shooting tip and 9 times out of 10 they take offense or become embarrassed. To answer your question, I don’t consider myself an authority on anything. |

My day job involves doing test and evaluation for the USAF on the weapon systems they use to put bombs on target.
My part time job is as a dealer and think that I know a fair amount about Optics, SF flashlights, AR15's, Knives, Tactical Gear, etc.... C4 |

Having become the "responsible son" while my brother has a degree in "German", I have to rib the people that have those "useless degrees". I remember all the art school kids that transfered into architecture when they realized they didn't want to be a teacher or a museum curator for the rest of their lives. God they could drone on! I am actually very interested in art & design, I just never could get into remembering styles or artist's names. Those pictures of buildings that our architectural history professors would show us, and ask us to tell her what era, style, designer, aaaaaaaaaaaack! |

WWII military field gear and uniforms, everything a GI or Marine would have used or carried on a daily basis. Show me something and I will tell you what it was, when it dates from,, who used it, what its worth. Give me a unit, place, and time and I can give you the low down on what the average GI would have on him.
Military Surplus in general. Repairing Addressograph-Multigraph Graphotype machines, used way back when for making metal plates used in addressing machines but now for making dog tags, there are only a handfull of guys left anywhere who know how to reapir them. Ihave never worked on one (other than the ones I refurbish and sell, work for customers is much cheaper) for under $50/ hour 2 hour min plus $25/hr travel. Nobody else in the southeastr does this that I am aware of, so its pay me or don't make tags. |
