I used the first part of the above excerpted statement to argue to a business that they should make their no-CCW sign/policy disappear.
It worked. It just took somebody pointing it out for them to realize that criminals paid no attention to it, and when that happened, the fact that no law abiding armed people would be there would be BAD. And what was it ole Bobby H said? "An armed society is a polite society." |

Every now and then a citizen will ask me what I think about the ccw law and shouldn't I be worried because people out there might have guns I don't know about. 1st I tell him the people that have ccw are not the ones that break laws and are much more likely to be coming to my defense than to be the one I am arresting. 2nd I tell them police are trained to treat everyone I meet as if they are armed.

Everytime we leave our carry gun in the car to go in somewhere that is posted no firearms or a gun free zone (school or government bld.).
The Bad guys just got the upper hand, and Terorist know this. Some nut tried to shoot up a college a while back. It was 2 off duty LEO's who took care of him. After of course, they went to their cars to retrieve their duty weapons. But guns were not stated in the Newspaper article. "They tackled then subdued him." Oh, one LEO was a female (If I remember right). I will research this more to verify it. |
