I just picked up my fourth this weekend. It's like a sickness or something.
Endura Jess Horn Lightweight 50/50 Native Rescue |

Last count was six and there's more I want. [:D]
I love spydercos and Emersons. |

Quoted: Last count was six and there's more I want. [:D] I love spydercos and Emersons. View Quote I kind of like the looks of the Military, but I've never liked liner locks much. That's why I've never really gone for Emersons. |
None...I lean towards benchmades and microtech's. I wouldn't throw a delica away though.
I have three
2 Natives, one black, the other stainless, set up for opening as they are pulled from the pocket 1 Mirkat (sp?) I just bought it for the cool lock [:D] |
Zero.
But 2 Emersons, 2 CRKTs, and 2 Benchmades to make up for it. Maybe a Delica one of these days. |
One, somewhere. The nice thing about Spydercos is you can get a bunch of cool ones for relatively cheap.
Just the Civilian with TufRam rubber/aluminum handle. I used to have more but got rid of them to collect more rare pieces.
1 Wegner.
2 Wegner Jrs. It's not a sickness until you start buying spares of the same design. |
1 endura, old style plastic clip that broke.
replaced it wil benchmade griptillian. |
How many have I bought? 3
How many do I own / still have? 1 Broke the clips / lost the other 2. |
Rescue (old model with plastic clip)
Military SpyderCard Next on the list: Delica |
1 spyco rescue 93mm
I really prefer my gerber AR3.0 though. I like the locking mechanism better. The feel of thick metal is better than thin plastic and the blade glides easier. Oh yea, its also an AR.I don't have any benchmades, but they are definately nice blades. The one thing I do like about the spyco is the nifty hole in the blade. |

4 total
2 enduras (1 stainless and 1 plastic handle) 1 rescue 1 spydercard 1 renegade |

This is what is above my TV.

I have a Wegner model. It's nice, except for the clip being attached to the butt end.
Do any of the Spyderco models have the clip attached at the hinge end, like the Benchmade norm? DrMark |
Yes there are some with the clip there.
It all depends on the model. Most of the metal handled knives have the clip on the same end as the pivot. NoKarma |
One.
I don't remember the model, but it's an all-stainless one. I got it in '95 while I was still in the Army and I ALWAYS carried it with me wherever I went. But I don't carry it anymore...I "retired" it after using it to cut my son's umbelical cord when he was born last September. That 'blade has a lot of sentimental value, needless to say... I guess I need to get around to picking up another... |

Oh yeah, and 3 of the ones that go on your keychain, that have the red LED in them. I don't remember what they're called, and they were discontinued in 1999...

DrMark View Quote why do you prefer the clip to be at the hing end? i like it at the butt end. this results in me carrying the one spyderco that i own more often than i carry my CRKT (which i think is a better knife) |
The ideal location for the clip is at the butt end, BUT liner-locks don't hold the blades securely enough in place when closed, and if the clip was on the butt end, you could stab yourself when you removed the knife if it had opened up while in your pocket. So, virtually all liner-lock knives have the clip on the hinge end.

I have one, I can't find it. I guess I'll have to get another one!
Got a couple of their kitchen knives and I just got a carbon fiber Delica.
Two kitchen knives, delica and some really old all stainless one that the clip is stamped out of the handle side. Told the wife that I want a Temperance fixed blade for my birthday.

I love the Spyderco kitchen knives.
Best kitchen knives I have ever owned at anywhere near the price. |

DrMark View Quote why do you prefer the clip to be at the hing end? i like it at the butt end. this results in me carrying the one spyderco that i own more often than i carry my CRKT (which i think is a better knife) View Quote A secondary reason is, as Troy alluded to, the peace of mind that comes with tip-down in-pocket carry. Extraction from the pocket would close a partially open knife. The primary reason is that it works better for me. When I pull out the knife, my thumb and index finger are already at the pivot end, which is where they need to be to grip the knife for normal use. I pull it out and my thumb is right where it needs to be to flick the blade open. A knife with the clip at the butt end feels very awkward to me, like I have to flip it around in my hand when I pull it out. I don't understand how you guys are comfortable with the design. No offense, I just don't understand. DrMark |

Quoted: I love the Spyderco kitchen knives. Best kitchen knives I have ever owned at anywhere near the price. View Quote Interesting. Didn't know they offered kitchenware. What is the price for the set in the pic? I have a large batch of Wusthof knives. Was sending info about them, and buying on Ebay to sell at cost, to a friend who wanted a REAL set of kitchen knives. These look like they would be great additions to both our collections. |

This would be a good place to start. IF you look around you can find them much cheaper then factory direct. NoKarma |
