Never give a kid a "nickname" for a name.
Hank MUST be Henry first.
Jack must be John, etc..

Remember, you're naming the old man he'll someday become.
Don't name that poor old fella Cody, or Scout, or something you hope sounds "cool".

Give him a name with some dignity, so that he might grow into it, someday.

Had to go with Caleb Gunner. One of the crazest, coolest RAs my freshman year was named Caleb, one mean ass guitar player too. Gunner was the middle name of one of the writers on our college paper staff and a former roommate of mine. His by line was B.Gunner xxxx. He could drink anyone under any table, and had the slickest way with women. Not to mention that he was funny as hell, Bluto had nothing on him when it came to college antics. Both guys are just great guys to know.
