Would love to hear some as well.

Whenever I try to make margaritas with fresh limes, they are too tart.  I resort to mixes and I don't care for those either.....so then I go out and spend 7-10 bucks at a restaurant and hate life when I get the bill.

Would love to hear something for:

Traditional and Raspberry.

This is my recipe and people go CRAZY for it like I re-invented the margarita. I serve on the rocks, FYI. I believe you could add ice and blend but I never do.

1 can frozen lemonade mix
750 ml clear tequila
500 ml triple second
2/3 cup roses lime juice

Follow instructions on lemonade can to make the lemonade then add remaining ingredients and blend together!

2oz tequila
2oz fresh lime juice
1 1/4oz simple syrup
1/2oz grand marnier

This is a "top shelf" recipe from a friend that owns a Mexican restaurant.  You'll have to adjust for your taste.  I prefer gold tequila and more than the recipe calls for.  Some like it a little sweeter, some not so much, but it's pretty good.

ETA:  you can use bottled lime juice with very little difference.  (NOT key lime juice)

Going to Jimmy Buffett tomorrow (yeah yeah I know).

I'm spoiled and use

750ml Patron Silver (Quervo Traditional is surprisingly good at about 1/2 the cost)

750ml Contrieu

2 cans frozen limeade (each can says to add 4 and 1/3 cans water, I use 3(spring water))

then fill the cans one more time with any margarita mix (so its not too limey)

Mix all together in a 2 gallon cooler add some ice (why I don't add the full amount of water)

add a few sliced limes.

Salt the rim of your glass and enjoy.

Frozen I do a cup of Jose Cuervo, splash of triple sec, half a can of minute maid limade concentrate frozen and then pack the rest of the blender with ice.  If it's too thick, add more cuervo.

3-2-1.  3 oz tequila, 2 oz fresh lime juice 1 oz Conitreau. I like to add a tablespoon of agave nectar to add a little sweetness.  Shake all ingredients with ice then add to a glass with additional ice.  Traditional margaritas without the sugary mix.

Margarita mix, and frozen anything don't go in margaritas.

1.5 oz tequila (decent tequila, not monarch, most recipes call for silver, I like anejo)
1 oz mezcal (not the shit with the worm/scorpion, good mezcal, I tried el zacatecano anejo, I thought it was good)
1 oz Cointreau
2 limes squeezed
1/2 tbsp. agave syrup

Stir together and pour into salted, ice filled glass.

"Knock her nekkid margaritas"

1 bottle of Corona
1 12 oz can 7 Up
1 12 oz can frozen Minuteman Limeaide
Tequila

Pour first three ingredients in pitcher.   Take empty limeade can and put as much tequila in it as you think you can handle...full can for maximum drunkage, half can if you need to function.
Pour tequila from can into pitcher.
Stir
Can be doubled, tripled or more..just add 2, or 3, or 4 of all the fixings.

Serve over ice on salt rimmed glass.  Guaranteed to knock her panties clear into the back of the truck.   DO NOT SUBSTITUTE name brand ingredients, the shit won't work.

I like margaritas on the rocks, not frozen.

I'm no expert or aficionado on margaritas so I just use the simple 3-2-1  recipe using quality tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime (sometime I make it 3-1-2).

In one 1.6L blender, add:
- One 12 oz can of Minute Maid Limeade
- fill the blender to the top with ice cubes (not crushed ice)
- Fill empty Lineade can 3/4 full with your choice of Tequila
- add 2-4 oz of Grand Marnier

Blend until smooth. Hopefully your blender has some muscle.
Add salt to the rim of your glasses, if desired.
Pour, enjoy.

Three ingredients I always use are 100% agave tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and simple syrup or agave nectar. I also use triple sec, and Ke Ke Beach.

Two I like to make are:

3 oz Tequila

2 oz Lime Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup

2 oz Tequila

1 oz Triple sec

2 oz Lime Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup

Wife likes:

2 oz Tequila

1 oz Ke Ke Beach

1 oz Triple sec

1/2 oz Lime Juice

1/2  oz Simple Syrup

Splash of water.

I make them by filling a glass with ice and then putting the ingredients into it, pour the glass into a shaker and shake until the shaker is ice cold, pouring back into glass.

Not that hard, just buy decent tequila (100% agave) and decent margarita mix.

My recommendation. Lunazul tequila (stupid cheap but damn good) and Stirrings brand mix. Squeeze some fresh lime into the mix and use the remainder to coat your frosty glass rim for some salt. Put ice, Luna, mix, and squeezed lime juice into shaker with ice. Shake. Run lime carcass around rim of glasses you wish to fill. Coat rim of glasses with salt. Done.

2 part good anejo Tequila
1 part agave Necter
1 part Grand Mariner
Fresh squeezed  lime juice  1-2 limes per drink usually

Shake vigorously with ice and serve on the rocks with a salted rim.

Margaritas don't need any fancy flavored shit,  just good quality  ingredients.

"Mix" is not, ever, a valid ingredient in a margarita.  Shame on many of you.

OP, you need to fresh squeeze some lime juice, and you need to make some simple syrup.  (1 part sugar to 1 part water, heat and stir until dissolved, let it cool.)

100% blue agave tequila, silver (clear).  "Gold" tequila is just mixto with caramel coloring, and oak aged tequila is not for mixing.
Orange liqueur.  Can be Cointreau, but bear in mind that its 80 proof, you gonna get messed up.  And its expensive.  Hiram Walker Triple Sec is fine.
Real fresh squeezed lime juice.  Not concentrate, not the shit in the little plastic lime shaped bottle.  Get a hand squeezer and get to work, its worth it.

In a shaker, in this order, pour the following:
3/4oz simple syrup
1oz lime juice, FRESH
1oz triple sec
2oz tequila

Add ice, shake hard for 10 seconds or so, and strain over ice into a rocks or margarita glass.

Do NOT salt the rim.  Add a lime wedge if you so choose.

Get faded.

You won't want a bullshit chain restaurant fake ass margarita ever again.

Shaker of cold ass  ice
2 or 3 parts Heradura
1/2 part orange juice
1 Part ginger ale or lemon lime soda

Shaken not stirred, poured into a martini glass... rinse repeat and  sip, or gulp, with a Dunhill cigarette or two in between doses , while fucking off beside the garden fireplace as you go along to near bliss as is legally possible

Fixed me up well tonight

2 oz Respado or Anejo tequila
1 oz. Triple sec
1 oz Roses lime juice
In a glass filled with ice
Garnish with lime slice
Salt rim if you like, before adding ingrediants of course

ETA Gin works good with this also

Good tequila not Jose Queervo
Fresh squeezed lime
Agave nectar
or add Cointreau or Grand Marnier  for Cadillac not triple sec
If you add fake lime or triple sec your wasting your time or probably drink light beer .

Fresh limes are a MUST. Also, use a quality Tequila, I like Don Julio Silver (Respodo works well too.) This is for on the rocks although it works well frozen. I find Agave give a far better taste and doesn't give that aftertaste that simple sure does; also Agave is a lower glycemic sweetner.

Tequila: 1.5 oz
Orange Liquor: .5 oz
Agave Nectar: 1 1/2 tsp.
Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice: 1 whole lime

Traveling recipe, I make them in a Nalgene bottle. A half pint of tequila, a mini of triple sec, fill the bottle with limeade and shake. Salt up a glass or cup, add ice and fill. Add a lime squeeze.

3-2-1-splash

3 oz tequila
2 oz orange liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau, Grand Marnier)
1 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed)
splash of something with sugar (orange juice, 7UP, simple syrup)

Shake it up, and pour over ice in a glass with a salted rim

I use the 3-2-1 recipe as well. I usually add a little more lime juice.

Use good tequila, real lime juice and Cointreau or Triple Sec. I don't salt the rim of the glass so I shake a little salt in the drink. I make mine in bulk, in a blender with ice for the "crushed" style.
