IT depends. After they run intel at the Dark Star comm. center the info obtained has to be sent to headquarters. IT could take months based on how hard it is to get your records. I wouldnt sweat it though.

It depends on your background investigator's work load...  Two weeks to 6 months!

You did get a serious answer from ilikelegs.

Goatboy is busy making a living, keeping this site running, and changing the locks around here everytime one of us attempts to escape from this asylum.  [:)]

Have patience, young Jedi.  He'll get to it.

Once the background check is complete, your application is forwarded to the Membership Committee. The Committee will review the background material over the course of a few weeks, between rounds of golf at the HQ complex. Once they have a consensus to allow your application to proceed, it is passed on to the Sergeant-at-Arms for delivery to the Lower Administration. This group will double-check all information for completeness and accuracy. Depending on the mood of the L.A., the background information may need to be re-verified by the Special Investigative Team. You don't want that, at all. Presuming the Lower Administration accepts the application, they will then make a request for an Application Hearing with the Upper Administration. Now, we're getting somewhere. Usually, the Upper Administration will hold Application Hearings only in months that do not contain an "r", so you're in luck. Those poor saps that make application in late August have a looooooooooooooong wait. OK, once the UA decrees that they will hold said Hearing, and issues a proclamation notifying the Membership of the date, copies of any particulary interesting personal facts about you that turn up during the background check are distributed. Photos, usually obtained surreptitiously, are distributed to GoatBoy and ilikelegs for future use. The UA will then notify the Membership that you have or have not been accepted for membership.

Finally, there's the initiation. I can't reveal any details, but let's just say that you won't walk the same way for weeks, if ever. And you'll never, ever, look at a particular common garden implement without shuddering just a little. From there, it's simply a 30-day "cooling off" period to make sure you still want to be in.

All in all, you should be a full AR15.com Team Member by, say, October 2006. Good luck. We'll be waiting.

It's much easier just to go +1.

+1. [:D]
I'd give it a month before you gripe at the staff/Goatboy. I really wouldn't want Goatboy's work load, he actually has a real job on top of keeping us all in line and everything working.
