I have mixed feelings about Partition Magic. More than likely it will work very well for your situation. However, you should note that there is a very real possibility that Partition Magic may not be able to read the partition table after it modifies it.
How do I know? Happened to me very recently. I will admit my partition table on my main HD is fairly complex (around 8 different partitions for multiple OSes), yet after I used Partition Magic to change the size of a few partitions, I found that Partition Magic would only read the partition table as errored. Everything still worked, and the changes I made in Partition Magic had taken place, but I could no longer use the program to make any more changes.
To futher see what the problem was I used the fdisk program from a Red Hat Linux installation to see what was up. Ends up what happened is that Partition Magic had put a little space (<1 kilobyte) between each of my partitions.
Does it do this all the time? I don't know, but it did it to me and caused me enough headaches that I backed up and reformated everything.
I'm not trying to tell you Partition Magic is crap only my particular experience with it. I consider myself to be very computer savy, so I am pretty sure it wasn't user error. Either way g'luck with it.
