Well, I have read through the threads regarding the Masons, and I am very interested in it.  However, the Masons, that I have ever known or seen are all significantly older than me, I am 29 and they all seem to be in their 50's, 60's+.  I can't really see having to many shared interests with these folks.
Please don't interpret this wrong, but what is the membership like for my age demographic?

You are correct.

In Ohio, the average age of a Mason is 67.  I am 35.  I joined when I was 30.

It seems as though Masonry missed a generation.

Do not let that stop you from petitioning the Lodge.  There are younger members.  I have formed some tremendous friendships with guys that I otherwise would not have met.

Age makes no difference.  In Masonry, we all meet on the 'level'.

Like many fraternal organizations, they compete for younger folks time and attention.  On top of that they really are looking for men with a certain moral standard greater than the average.  Plus they don't actively recruit.  The Prince Hall Lodges seem to do better with gaining younger members than the Blue Lodges.  (Prince Hall are the "Historically Black" lodges and the Blue Lodges used to be primarily just about everything else.  Gradually the Brotherhood is getting better about brothers being brothers in all ways.)
