Can anyone recommend a decent Gunsafe or brand in the $350 range? Thanks. -Justin

Check for American Security brand safes, closer to $400.

Saw some nice cheap ones at Academy recently.

Not much use against burglars, but they will keep little kids from getting in trouble.

Sentry gun safes. You should be able to pick one up for about $300 that (allegedly) holds 14 guns. With pistol grips that number is reduced.

Sturdy construction. Light enough for two people to move with a dolly. Can bolt to floor or wall.

It would help if you tell us how many guns you have, what type, and where you live (oh, for shipping estimates, of course).[}:D]

I beleive Home Depot or Lowes sale safes also. They usually only have one but they run between $300.00-$400.00 and it is great quality at a good price.

Wally world Sentry here. It is OK, and IMHO, will keep everyone but a pro out. OTOH, if a pro wants in, figure that a 10,000 safe is only going to slow him up a bit.

Bolt the Sentry to the floor and wall.

Another good thing about the sentry-

For the price of one big safe, you can buy 3 sentry safes. Put them in different locations throughout the house. Any theives will have to decide which safe they're going to try to break into. If they can only crack one safe, they can only get 1/3 of your collection, instead of getting it all if you have everything in one basket.

Another vote for Sentry, if you don't mind made in China. They are not fireproof in that price range but they are sturdy. I have one of the "16 gun capacity" models. It will hold 16 10/22's otherwise, it fills up fast. That is true for most Gun Safes.

I got a Sentry, Wally World $299 model.  Believe it or not, I got 3 SARs, 3 ARs, and 3 FALs in that puppy, plus 5 pistols and some ammo.

Until I can afford something better, this is gonna have to do.

Pistol grips and optics will cut down on how many you can put in there...I'm pretty much at the limit now, without really banging 'em around way too much.

When it comes to gun safes, get the biggest and best you can afford. You'll never regret it. You may think you only need room for 6-8 guns now, but trust me......that saafe will fill up quicker than you'll beleive.
