Upon closer examination I'd say it is a worm/grub of sorts. It hollowed out a little path and stayed for the night. It's dead. I poked it a couple times with not response.
Makes you wonder when you bite into a pistachio and it just doesn't "taste right." This probably explains the burnt/spicy/western twang burst o' flavor you get about one in every 100 nuts. HA! Kind of like the prize in a box of Cracker Jack...just a little better. P.S. THESE NUTS ARE FROM CALIFORNIA! AGH! |
