Damn shame, that. No doubt the Brits will respond by banning all aviation.

Of course, in reading the story, we now know why the Brits drive on the wrong side of the road - they can't tell right from left.

"From what we can see from film and video, the left-hand wing had suffered a failure. It folded back on itself," Mr Eales said.

Also, did you catch this bit at the end of the story? Whacky Brits...
In a separate incident on Saturday before the crash, bomb squad experts blew up a car which drove on to the airfield and into a perimeter fence.

A 33-year-old man from Coventry was subsequently arrested and taken to Leamington Spa police station for questioning.

I'm positive that the right wing is shown separated in the photo. Note the orientation of "NX211". What you are seeing is the upper surface of the right wing, with the leading edge pointing back and to the left. The trailing edge is pointing forward. Must have been a horrifying last few seconds for the pilot.

The genuine article:

WRT the Brits blowing up cars in the wrong place, I think I'm gonna hire a few SAS operators at my office. We have 4 parking placed reserved for visitors to our company. We typically get 3-4 violators per day. Perhaps if violators were destroyed by a bomb squad, incidences would decrease.
