I was driving through a hotel parking lot after leaving a restaraunt and I saw a parked bright pink Corvette.  It looked fairly new, like the one in the photo below, but it had a lot of rear end and right side damage.  The license plate read "Angelnn".

Then I looked in front of me and there she was.  In short shorts and a bright pink top with lots of long blonde hair.  Walking from the hotel to her car.  She looked like she has been through some rough times.

If you spent much time in LA in the 1980's you probably saw some of her billboards.  They were all over the place.

From Wikipedia:
"Angelyne is an American singer, actress and model. She came to prominence in circa 1984 after a large number of billboards promoting herself started appearing all over Los Angeles, California.[1] She immediately caught the attention of the local media and through her flamboyant and feather-brained persona, became known worldwide. The success resulted in her receiving a number of offers for film roles, interviews and television show appearances. The main trademark of her celebrity persona is a pink Corvette. Angelyne is often referred to as being "famous for being famous" since her billboards have gotten more fame than her music career. Her billboards have been featured in many movies and television series, including the opening credits of Moonlighting and spoofed in shows such as The Simpsons, Futurama and BoJack Horseman.

Initially starting out as an actress, Angelyne first appeared as an extra in the films Phantom of the Paradise (1974) and The Wild Party (1975). She later landed a part in the 1977 comedy Can I Do It... 'Til I Need Glasses?, before she joined her then-boyfriend's punk rock band Baby Blue. Together they performed in many local clubs around Los Angeles. In 1982, she released her self-titled debut album and her first posters began appearing as a part of the promotion. After launching her massive self-promoting billboard campaign in February 1984, she began working on her second album. Driven to Fantasy was released in 1986. Angelyne appeared in small parts in films such as Earth Girls Are Easy (1988), Dangerous Love (1988) and Homer and Eddie (1989).
..."

Most of her billboards are NSFW.  This one is probably OK.

I remember those billboards on the strip back in the 80s but I don't remember a thing about her or her work?

I bet that the Corvette isn't the only thing with a lot of rear end damage.

Same here.  I think that her approach was the same as the Kardashian's, but not successful.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

She's Kardashian before there were Kardashians: famous for being famous.

I've always thought she got some sugardaddy to put up the billboards.  It's just sad now.

I recall those billboards...always thought it was an advert for a strip club or porn actress doing local strip club stints.

Glad I was in the SF Bay Area.  We didn't have to see that sh*t.  Anyway, Channel 36 used to use a very time worn Carol Doda as its spokesperson for the Perfect 36.

I really think that plastic surgery prohibits this. The skin just never looks right.

For the record- I would have gleefully hit that back in the day and if I were her age I'd hit that now.

I remember seeing some of her billboards in the mid-90s ('94-'96) when I was in southern California.  I think they were only in the Los Angeles area.  I had no idea who she was other that she was semi-famous just for being semi-famous.

she's a regular customer at my last place of work.

she's a nut, i love her, she's so crazy, would buy one single item and ask for help out to her car with it. She always had to park on the street, and her car was always filled with so much shit. She'd freak out on you if she though you were taking a picture of her. most of my employees couldn't stand her, i always found her entertaining.

One time at a starbucks up the street, she snatched a phone out of a girl's hand, and the girl wasn't even taking a pic of her.

She's fucking legend, man.  i even have some of her business cards still.

It is kind of sad when age, gravity and plastic surgery take their toll on a "sex kitten", yet they refuse to give up their role.
