I'm busy arguing the derp with gun control freaks, and need some clarification.

Anyone have a list or a link to one that shows what states do not require a background check for a private party transfer?

Thanks!

What states do not infringe on the Second Amendment would be a better question. Allow. Dude you have lived in California too long.

You forgot IL, its not exactly a BG check but I believe they still keep the info. Some have said that its just to check if a foid is valid since people have ran their foid thru it a bunch of times to see if it triggers something but you have to wonder why they would issue a transaction number which means they have to keep some type of record.

Pennsylvania does for anything that is not a "firearm".

A "firearm" is defined as: "Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18 inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is applicable."

Indiana checking in. No bg check for ftf sales, no mag bans, nfa friendly, lifetime carry permit and can carry a firearm in your car on school property.

mass allows 4 ftf a year but it has to be registered (the transfer not the gun lol )  via E-fa10 and both parties have to be permit holders.  we do get nic'ed to get the permits. (FID or LTC for pistol or high cap)

Really? I thought you needed a permit to buy a handgun?

BTW, a person holding a valid FFL is not a "private party", if that firearm is on their books.  It is worth noting.

Make it the question.  Using language that is not defeatist or represents servantude is important in these arguments.
Be careful how you choose your words.

The second amendment says no state requires any form of check.  It mentions that specifically in the "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" section.

Illinois technically does not require a BG check. You just have to go online to make sure their foid card is valid. But to get a foid card their background check you, so BG checks on guns in IL are redundant.

Michigan allows private party sales of long guns, nothing is required.

The buyer does have to go get a pistol purchase permit for a handgun.

Florida does. But personally, I only sell FTF to people who possess a CWL, and I write up a bill of sale.

WA gained "universal background checks" back in 2013 with a retarded initiative that all the democrats voted for. (it would never have made it through normal legislative channels)  It was challenged in court and the case was thrown out because nobody has standing: because they've NEVER prosecuted anyone over it.  Even when people do a transfer right in front of the police, and say that is what they're doing.  Then they claim it is a 1st amendment political statement and thus won't prosecute!  WTF.   This topic makes me so mad.  On the upside we have gotten silencers and SBRs legal again in recent years.  MGs and SBSs aren't likely though.

So we have them, but it isn't enforced (without a sting operation it is impossible to enforce as there are no records about who owns what firearm when).  Immediate family is exempted, and I don't know the legal framework around family definitions.  Aren't we all brothers and sisters of humanity?  F-em, I never sell anything anyway.  FFLs all charge a transfer fee to perform the service, $25-50, up to them what they charge.
