At least I wasn't in court
Years ago I was waiting around for a court appearance and finally pulled out my phone and called the other lawyer bringx10 "Whuh! What? what? Jimmy Shyster Law office" "Jimmy, Aimless.." "Hey budddy what's going on" "I'm waiting for you" "Oh uh oh?"' "Oh,yeah, you know at court on Dickhead v Turd?" "Ahhh oh! Ah" "Were you asleep" "Well yeah yeah...er don't say anything, can you stall? I'll be in there in twenty minutes" "yeah yeah get going" ' |

If I sleep on duty I will crash and die or kill someone else as I mostly am driving.
A sleeping lawyer is a good thing as he is less likely to fuck someone over that way. |

No, I work from home. I can just claim that my internet connection died...

I work in a cube. After my 2nd kid was born, I may have put my phones headset on and dozed with my back to the door and few times. I doubt I would have been in trouble, but I didn't want my employees seeing I was sleeping.

Guy I started with a few months ago was constantly nodding off during training and meetings.
He got disappeared after the first month. 20 navy vet too, figured he'd know how to stay awake |

Lady at work sleeps a lot and everyone knows it. Management put her in the corner away from everyone. Oh well, she's a nice gal

Doubt that I would get fired but there would be jokes. I once walked in on the CEO napping at his desk, thought he was dead (old fucker), there were jokes.

No, it has happened.. I was still sitting up even, lasted about 5 minutes, my snoring gave it away. I was wiped out. 39, Full time Job with 1.25hr of travel on each end, 3 college classes, new wife, new dog... this was spring semester this year. I finished my degree and am enjoying sleep again LOL.

When it used to be real real slow, during the market crash, I worked nights and I used to doze off a couple times a night (a few times when driving my PIV ). I would just get a "Hey" from the boss. Now, I am the boss, so no dozing off, even though I have a comfy chair in an air conditioned office |
|
Nope. Hell, I once got caught sleeping after fashioning a makeshift bed when I worked for the FAMs.
I got a "c'mon, dude, you can't *do* that." for it. |

Current job, no. Last job, absolutely... and was warned about sleeping at my desk on my lunch break.
|
|
Yes, you can be fired for dozing off but as long as you aren't a dick and it frequent they usually let it slide.
Hey, back in the day we had guys clock in hung over as hell or even still bombed. Just cover for them a couple of hours and they would be working albeit slowly and quietly. .... Back before zero tolerance came around.... |
|
I have done it. I awoke to my boss and somebody else staring at me. They thought it was hilarious. I think I had been out for about 10 minutes. No. I won't get fired.
I'm on meds that increase my chances of falling asleep. I use 5-hour energy shots when the sleepiness gets bad. |

Got a little "officially negative" "Privately that's awesome!" feedback when my sleep apnea resulted in the OPFOR I was controlling soundly defeating an officer basic course exercise at Fort Sill whilst asleep. A co-worker said I would come to, alter some routes, fire some artillery - and doze right back off. Apparently it really pissed off the instructor when he got told his class lost to a guy that was asleep ....
They called me "El Diablo" after that ...... |
|
Guys around here will clown you for sleeping. One of the other managers here took a picture of a guy sleeping everyday for like a month then one day posted them all over the office with caption employee of the month on them. It was pretty sweet.
|
|
Nope. I have a couch in my office that I have used to catch naps on during my lunch break.

I got called into my office a few years ago. One of the saleswomen got a call from an unknown customer that claimed I had fallen asleep in an electric room while on the job. When I questioned my GSM she couldn't tell me what job nor who said it. I denied that I had ever fallen asleep. I left my GSM's office all types of pissed off and talked to my dispatcher. She told me it was a hospital that said I had fallen asleep. I stormed back into my GSM's office and explained that the job who accused me of falling asleep on the job I had not been on in 8 months and was not there on the day in question. Furthermore, I was actually sleeping that day as I was fucking off on vacation and was not at work. I then reported her and the cunt saleswoman to HR for slander.

I work retail at one of the big auto parts chains. On really slow days I have. Not much else to do when you've front faced the store a dozen times and havent seen a customer in hours.

I work in radio so it depends on what I am doing. I have dosed off many times while I am sitting at my desk typing, especially years ago when I first started this job and was dealing with a shift change from my last one.
I can't recall ever dozing off while on the air, but there are times I have certainly felt like it. I am not sure if it would get me fired nowadays. I think my boss depends on me and would be concerned about me, but not fire me. |
|
Nope. I actually plan on falling asleep. I even bring a neck pillow in my pack so I don't get weird pains.

Last month, I worked a 24hr shift cleaning up a colossal fuck up a manager made. Boss told me to take a nap before sending home. I slept for a couple hours then worked another 6 hours.

I work in a semi conducter fab. It's considered a safety violation and grounds for immediate termination. You can sleep on your car at lunch if you absolutely had too. Or clock out and go home if it was that big of a deal.

One time fa few years ago my director came by to my desk to congratulate me on a promotion and woke me up.
|
|
I've worked at companies that had dedicated nap rooms, so no.
|
|
Let me ask my supervisor.......
Yeah, we're good to go. 'nite. |

Jerkwad who worked with me used to sleep at his desk from time to time.
Snored too. It used to be great fun to slam a drawer or drop a cabinet door to startle him awake. I especially liked doing it when I had people in my cube. The hard part was to not burst out laughing when he jumped. What was he going to do, complain to the boss that I woke him up at work? |
|
on a slow afternoon I'm known to take a nap on the couch in my office.
