damn, I want one, but $6k, I can get a machine gun for that money and given the recoil with the .50bmg, I bet follow up shots would be just as fast with a bolt action .50

The question is, would you NEED a follow up shot if you hit your target the first time? With .50, I'm thinking not. You could shoot a deer in the ass with that, and still knock it dead. Hell if the bullet passed within 6 inches of the deer it would be dead.

JESUS that's a big bolt!

I wonder if a RDIAS would fit into that thing... talk about a shoulder bruiser.

that's my point, with a .50 why do you need a semi anyway, other than the cool factor?

The semi fifties were designed to engage multiple targets, like commo gear and vehicles, at long range, fast, so the team could escape sooner.

My personal feeling is that the .50 BMG is not up to snuff in terms of killing ability.  I'm holding out for a 20mm or 30mm semi. [rolleyes]

crap, ive gotta give it to the guy. He finished MY design. I made that design EXACTLY the same about 10 months ago here on ARFcom, I just never put it into production.

Anyway I dont have the post to bring up because it got sucked into the 6 month buffer. dammit.

The 25mm M242 Bushmaster cannon used on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and a variety of vehicles. The M242 25mm "Bushmaster" Chain Gun, manufactured by McDonnell Douglas, has a single barrel with an integrated dual-feed mechanism and remote ammunition selection. Either armor piercing (AP) or high explosive (HE) ammunition may be selected with the flick of a switch. The Gunner may select from single or multiple shot modes. The standard rate of fire is 200 rounds per minute, and has a range of 2,000 meters (depending on the ammunition used). A wide range of ammunition has been developed for this weapon, making it capable of defeating the majority of armored vehicles it is likely to encounter, up to and including some main battle tanks.
